Analysts: PS3 on top in September |
Ó

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has released his predictions for the September US sales period ahead of the official numbers from NPD. According to him, all points indicate a superb showing for the Sony PS3. Predictions from EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich also put the PS3 on top for September.
Pachter's estimates put the PS3 at 410,000 units sold thanks in large part to the price cuts introduced by Sony in August. This places the console ahead of the Nintendo Wii's estimated 390,000 units and the Microsoft Xbox 360's 350,000 units.
He also added that the PS3 may continue to outsell its competitors through the rest of the year:
We think that the PS3 will outsell the Xbox 360 in September, and may continue to do so for the rest of the year. Microsoft has the ability to lower price yet again, but we anticipate the introduction of a more feature-packed Xbox 360 in early 2010 (likely with a 250Gb hard drive) at the same US$ 299 price point; we think that Microsoft will cut price only if it begins to lose significant market share to Sony.

Damn, I'd love to be an analyst, I mean how easy was this to work out? Must have taken Patcher weeks or maybe months.
*Sigh*
No wonder there's a recession, when they are plonkers like him pointing out the obvious, and getting paid! I mean, WTF?
I'd love to be an analyst too.
I have analyzed the trends of the sun for the last 10 years and I have concluded that tomorrow, the sun will rise in the east.
"we think that Microsoft will cut price only if it begins to lose significant market share to Sony."
It won't take be long until this is happening, if not it's already happening....
PS3 will be at parity with 360 (worldwide sales) by the end of Sony's fiscal year (Mar 2010). --If not sooner.
was a good one
yeah shatterdome
but patcher has been doing this a while.
he can tell you where it will set ;o)
i dont like the ps3 very much but its still good. i only hope that all wiis on the entire planet will get broken and the ones of the big nintendo guys will explode and kill' em, expect mine. then ms could buy nintendo and pwn sony, then buy em too and make some super master mario chief crash bandicoot(got licence back) rayman spyro banjo kazooie poke***** zelda luigi bill gates bros brawl game.
I didn't realize people still cared about numbers. I have a crap load of games for my PS3, so the sales means nothing.
