Game designer American McGee is apparently serious about building a new team at his Shanghai office to begin work on "an episodic game set in a dark, fairy tale universe." If American McGee sounds like a clothing line to you, well, let us tell you more about him.

The guy began his career at id Software. He was a level designer and part of the programming staff for such games as Doom II, Quake, and Quake II. In 1998, he moved to Electronic Arts, where he worked as a consultant on many projects and also created his own game, American McGee's Alice. After finishing Alice, he left Electronic Arts and founded his own company, The Mauretania Import Export Company, of which he is the president.

So going back with this "new project" of McGee's, the game designer doesn't want to give away too much information for now but he wants to divulge to the whole world that they are in dire need of team members. According to him, "if you are an experienced programmer, artist, level designer, writer, musician, producer, or other game related craftsman, and want to help build the best independant development studio in China" then you oughta tell him about it and who knows? Maybe you're what his team needs. Here is an early artwork of the project.

» Time will tell

I loved Alice it was an awesome game on the PC. Cant say i really liked Scrapland though, it didnt have the same appeal as Alice and the controls were dodgy as in certain areas.

» movie on oz

Alice was good with it's dark element.

After a search, it seems jerry bruckheimer was going to do a movie based on AM's oz in 2004. Wonder if it would have been as good as aquaman on entourage.
