Alien Storm and Wonder Boy in Monster World to hit VC? |
Ó
From time to time, we head over to the online sites of regulatory boards such as the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) and the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC). In case you don't know, news about our favorite video games can be found at unexpected places.
We learned that the OFLC rated two new Sega Mega Drive titles, namely Alien Storm (PG for mild fantasy violence) and Wonder Boy in Monster World (G for general). The application for ratings was submitted by Nintendo of Australia, meaning these titles may be headed to the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console (VC) soon.
Alien Storm was actually an arcade game by Sega and then it was ported to Mega Drive in 1991. Basically, this title involves a rather freaky alien race on its course to conquer Earth. It is now up to "Alien Busters" Karen, Garth, and Scooter.
Wonder Boy in Monster World is more known in North America as Super Monster World: Super Wonder Boy. This version is pretty much important to the Wonder Boy series as it was the first to introduced RPG elements and a medieval fantasy world setting. It was originally released back in 1987.
Nintendo of Australia has yet to comment on these unearthed developments but we will update you as soon as the company does so.
