Activision gets sued for Guitar Hero III band cover and sound problems - Image 1Even though Activision's Guitar Hero III (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC) is still one of the hottest selling games in  the market, we all know that problems hounded the game's rise to stardom ever since it debuted in October. Things haven't eased up for Activision even with the holidays practically arriving, as lawsuits continue to chase its little rock star.

Activision was named in a class-action suit filed by Samuel Livingston of San Diego, accusing the developer that it allegedly misled consumers to believe that their copies of Guitar Hero III  for the NIntendo Wii were that of the Dolby Pro Logic II version when the games were only able to produce mono mono sound output when played.

Aside from "seeking  actual damages, individual restitution, equitable relief, civil penalties, costs, and expenses in litigation," the lawsuit that Livingston filed which was represented by the KamberEdlson law firm also accused Activision that the company made no attempts to address these issues.

Wired was able to get a comment from an Activision representative about the replacement of the game copies with remastered copies of Guitar Hero III for the Wii. The publisher didn't give any comment regarding the lawsuit though.

um GH3

is crazy bugged. I have the 360 version and I think its really stupid you can't do Co-Op Career online. That was a huge selling point they pissed on. Someone actually has to come over and play still if you wanna complete/play Co-Op Career... and then, if that isn't stupid enough, the 2nd player won't get any achievements; because only the first person player gets achievements. My friend and I completed and fivestarred co-op career on easy, he as lead and me as backup, and only he got the achievements because he was 1st player though it was my console, game, and HDD. The pretty guitar I paid tons for is also scrood up as their dumbass idea to make it break apart at the neck causes a disconnect for the green button which makes playing a little sketchy when you constantly have to apply pressure to hold the guitar connections together... GH3 might be the last iteration I ever buy... maybe if they get some actual AAA guitar bands ... hey Activision, you ever heard of LedZep, PFloyd, JHendrix, EClapton, TheEagles, RandyRhoades, AC/DC... hell give me some Chuck Berry over most of the faeries you chose this time. ... sorry the achievement thing happened yesterday and it was a lot of redundant mind numbing work so GH3 is a soar topic for me. Had to rant.

The Wii

is inferior. Thanks for playing.

It's not that easy....

Dude I wouldn't mind getting those artists as well, but good luck trying to get the rights to them. Led Zep took FOREVER just to put their songs on iTunes, and let's not talk about how hard it would be to get Jimi with all his past copyright lawsuits......I also read somewhere that Activision tried to get AC/DC, and was unable to aquire the rights..... I wish it was as easy as us "the consumer", telling Activision which bands and songs to put on the game, but it's more complicated than that. All in all, I was actually impressed with the line-up this time, and it had a lot of master tracks (I can't stand the covers).

hm

hendrix was in a previous guitar hero release.....and zeppelin rarely gives up the rights to their music...especially for a video game....they need some guitar gods like children of bodom or micheal batio.......and the two piece guitar is retarded...lol
