Activision has finally responded to all the complaints about failing Guitar Hero: World Tour instrument peripherals across all its platform releases: the Xbox 360, PS2, PlayStation 3, and Wii.From what they gather, the sensitivity issues of drum sets that people have been complaining about "are limited to ones in the earlier manufacturing stages."
To counteract this, Activision's now announced a 'drum tuning kit' that we assume would let users re-calibrate the sensitivity of the drum pads.
We are stepping our efforts to randomly test our drum kit controllers so customers can be assured they work properly. In the event any consumers do experience problems with their drum kit controllers associated with sensitivity issues, Activision will soon be offering a drum tuning kit that will enable players to fully optimize their drums.
See, Activision explained that the problems people have been reporting about (for the most part, at least) concern themselves with the drums not being able to pick up hits on the drum pad.
Ideally, if you hit the pad hard enough, it will register the note as a loud note, if you tap it gently, it's a softer note. Some have reported that the drums can't seem to decipher hard hits from light taps - some even say they don't register the hit at all.
With a solution to the drums in the bag... the question now is if Activision will also address some of the guitar problems that other people have also been reporting about.
