Activision responds to Courtney Love's lawsuit threats

Courtney Love's Twitter tirade against Activision, Guitar Hero 5, Dave Grohl (oh she hates Dave alright), and whoever else has pissed her off seems to have died down a bit. In the interim, Activision has sent out a statement saying that contrary to her recent claims, Love did indeed give them permission to use Kurt Cobain as a playable avatar in Guitar Hero 5 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii).

Says Activision, they got a signed agreement from the former Mrs. Cobain to use the Nirvana frontman's likeness in the game:

Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt CobainÂ’s likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero 5.

Love, on the other hand, said earlier via Twitter that she did no such thing. Or she did, but she was literally forced at gunpoint. I can't tell which. This Rolling Stone article, however, says that Love even had a hand in the process of digitizing Kurt, going as far as picking out the hairstyle and wardrobe that would be used for the avatar.

Now I'm inclined to think that there are two possibilities here. One, the Twitter account is fake and somebody's just messing around. Two is, well, she probably just forgot. Or something. That Rick James line comes to mind. Oh, and here's the video that started this whole mess:

It's probably some troll account, but the way I know the story is this:

One possible reason she hates Dave Grohl is the bad three-way sex she had with him and Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumkins. Lolwat you may ask, but I found that out today. Also, Dave G. is a major failure for claiming "[He] was Nirvana" right after Kurt Died and he formed the Foo Failures.

Courtney was known to be very violent in her relationships, often paying other people to do her dirty work. A lot of guys she dated said they woulda ended up like Kurt, even though I still think he was murdered. One theory says *she* paid someone to kill him, but who knows if she really wants this to go through.

She DID give them permission, and she DID help the design. The thing she was ACTUALLY angry about, as well as a legion of RB/GH/Music fans, is how in the game of GH5, you can use Kurt to play other songs from many other artists he'd never have even touched in real life, and he sings parts of other songs as well.

A lot of people viewed this as kinda scaring his legacy as anyone who knew Kurt knew he absolutely HATED the mainstream in general. To include him in a mainstream game like this was the *first* mistake.

It probably is a fake account cuz Courtney Love spelling things? Highly improbable. And also, what is the big deal with Kurt Cobain? really, nobody gave a ***** about him while he was alive but after he commits suicide it somehow makes the drunken jibberish and nonsensical guitar riffs Godlike. "I'm gonna fork out lots of cash for a box set of b-sides and unreleased stuff." its b-side and unreleased for a reason, cuz it sucks. N' he obviously didn't want it released, just like I'm sure he wanted his personal journal to be published for the world to see. "Nevermind' is about as far as I go. Let the man rest, people. You could put every good song by Nirvana on a game and still have plenty of room for about 80 songs. You people quit being trendy.

how come nobody gets this anal about Mario playing tennis. He's a platform character! He's playing sports omg, thats not what he does or who he is, therefore it shouldn't be fun! ***** people don't be hella stupid nobody complains when a chick is singing a guy song.
