Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has assured James Bond fans that they are committed to revitalizing the Bond franchise. The company secured the license to create video games based on the James Bond films from Electronic Arts in 2006.

"Bond is one of the great videogame franchises of all time and that really was a result of Golden Eye," said Kotick at a BMO Capital Markets conference. "I think the key to re-energising the Bond franchise is going to be ultimately the highest possible game quality."

Talking about the Bond titles released by Electronic Arts (2004's GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and 2005's From Russia With Love), Kotick commented that "it wasn't a focal point of Electronic Arts' efforts". Kotick added that the franchise "didn't get the attention it deserved" due to Electronic Arts' broad portfolio.

For Activision's part, Kotick revealed that the company currently has two Bond projects in the works. "We have our best development studios working on the product, we have a second team working on another Bond product and we're putting great resources against it," he added.

This is some good news. I actually liked Goldeneye Rogue Agent... maybe we'll see a sequel to it.

that was EA though, this is Activision. I think Activision can pull it off and hopefully we can have a good Bond game. The last one i enjoyed was night fire for ps2.
