A Boy and His Blob getting remake for the Wii |
Ó
Those of you who are unfortunate enough to be too young to know this
game will have a chance to redeem themselves. The classic 1989 game, A Boy and His Blob, is getting a remake for the Wii in celebration of the game's 20th anniversary. The studio who took up the task of making the remake is Majesco Entertainment, the studio behind Cooking Mama and Psychonauts.
Majesco tried to resurrect the game before for the DS, but that project was canceled due to financial trouble for the studio. It may be for the best though, since the Wii remake sounds way better. According to the press release, the Wii remake will feature "groundbreaking hand drawn and painted animation technology, the all-new presentation provides a polished, cinematic feel."
In case you didn't guess yet, A Boy and His Blob is about a story about... a boy and his blob. The blob, named Blobert, has the odd ability of being able to transform into various objects depending on what kind of jellybean you feed him. He can turn into a ladder if you feed him a licorice jelly bean, for instance. Together, they have to travel to Blobert's planet of Blobolonia to defeat the evil emperor. Oooooh.

Maybe if the Wii version is successful they'll consider finishing and releasing it. I'd really like to play it.
