3D Realms: Duke Nukem Forever planned for multiple platforms - Image 1

Now here's one for the books: 3DRealms CEO Scott Miller just let slip that they are planning a multiplatform release for elusive Duke Nukem Forever, and it sang sweet melodies to our ears. It wasn't so long ago that the developer released a most welcome Duke Nukem Forever trailer in years, and this new development is sweet nectar to fans now spread among various gaming platform favorites.

"We plan to have a multi-platform release if possible. We're not nailing down a date yet, but we're excited about the game's progress," so goes the magical words from Miller's mouth, so it's no longer a PC-only release as speculated by many. Miller then added that the trailer was simply a teaser, reminding fans that the bubble-gum deprived, PigCop kicker is coming in the future.

While such plans may be about as rock-solid as the game's actual release date, at least at one point of its development, 3DRealms aimed to have every gamer - no matter what game machine in possession - park 'em bricks in alien toilets in freeze-ray fashion. Brick parking: might be for everyone.

» Vapour-ware

So how many decades has this been in development then?

Even if it isn't vapour-ware, I don't think it'll live up to the hype.

[ The Best Movie in 2008: Valkyrie ]

Watch the movie trailers, so you have an idea on what these movies (Valkyrie and Speed Racer) are. You thought Tom Cruise is a character in the movie who’s trying to murder Adolf Hitler. Nah, the leaked script (summary) is available online. Tom Cruise is loyal to Hitler. Tom is acting like a traitor because Tom and Hitler want to hind out who are loyal and who are not before they can start the World War II (I saw this coming, I mean I knew Tom Cruise is loyal to Hitler; Valkyrie is made by the director who made the Usual Suspects; good guys are actually bad; bad guys are actually good, etc).

[ The Best Movie in 2008: Speed Racer ]

It’s from the makers of the Matrix trilogy, and Speed Racer looks luscious, fantastic and crazy. I’m especially talking about the graphics (CGI). Speed Racer seems to be better than the Craptrix 3 anyway. Look at the trailer (there’s only one).

- at 00:12 – Track Mania (PC game)???

- at 00:47 – Bioshock!!! (an underwater city)

- generally (the trailer includes racing girls) – Need for Speed???

- generally (throughout the whole trailer) – MotorStorm!!!

Look at the Bioshock scene (at 00:47) then you may think the graphics is terrific for a movie. They just added some nice glow effects on people’s clothing and some more.

[ This Old One Needs a Better Sequel: Sonic the Hedgehog ]

Just look at the newest Sonic remakes for PS3 and X360. Sonic is in 3 dimensional just like Mario on Wii. Mario moves so slow; therefore, Mario games can be made perfectly in 3D. Sonic and its (or his) friends move 10 to 20 times faster than Mario and its gang (20 times faster when they are in Super state, such as Super Sonic in glowing gold color). As a result, the new Sonic game (PS3) is totally crappy.

Look at LittleBigPlanet (PS3) and Small Arms (X360); at first glance (I mean for the first 5 seconds), you think both are 2D games; then you know that they are 100% 3 dimensional. The developers chose such camera angle (and you can’t move around or change the fixed camera angle), so these games look like 2D games. LBP is 3rd most popular and hyped PS3 game in 2008 (after Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid). If Sega just makes a new Sonic game like LBP or Small Arms (by using such camera angle), then this Sonic will be superb (with perfect gameplay and controlling even when Sonic is so fast).

Then Sega needs to add one more new character (which is not crappy). This new Sonic game must be much difficult to play. For example, look at Sonic 3 which was really popular (so you should know a lot about it). Sonic 3 has 6 levels and the entire game can be finished in 4 to 5 hours; but 95% of the entire game is blazingly easy to play; and 5% is very hard and challenging (for example, you have to go through underwater mazes very fast; otherwise, Sonic will be drowned). The new Sonic game must be 80% groundbreaking difficult + 15% quite hard + 5% easy.

(I only like talking about various topics, and that’s why I post long comments time to time. On the other hand, I’m not a fan of reading other people’s comments. I simply never waste even 2 seconds to read comments posted by garbage like you, game addicts (yes, I’m talking about you); therefore, don’t bother to post replies here, kid.)

» You need mental help. Badly.

I'll bother to post replies on any public forum I choose. If you think "game addicts" like the users here are garbage, then why stop by to spew unrelated crap? Do you also go to the Apple forums and praise XP, then go to the MS forums and praise Tiger just to start a fight? I can only imagine what your life must be like. Talk about needy for attension...

» I love this guy

He has made countless accounts to demean "game addicts", even tho he's really the only lifeless nerd here. It's hilarious

Even tho you do give me a good laugh "hello", please go play in traffic. Or at least never have kids
