Someone had to say it. In a recent interview, 2K boss Christoph
Hartmann remarked that the Wii market is flooded by "crappy titles,"
making it hard for the real gems to shine:Where people go wrong in the casual market is that, while the development costs are exploding on the casual side, they're treating the Wii like the old PC market - making cheap, accessible games.
They think if they make ten titles and two are hits, they will finance the other eight. But they forget these eight crappy titles will flood the market and will lead to problems in terms of production - and upset retailers. Also, the consumer will be pissed off because they'll be confused.
2K's own Carnival Games, which got meager, if not downright stinky, ratings from critics, was a commercial success. Hmm... I honestly don't know whether Carnival Games would be considered a "crappy title" or not, based on those facts. Anyway, on the success of the game, Hartmann comments:
Had we released it last week, it would have been much tougher. ThereÂ’s far too much stuff in the Wii market [now] and itÂ’s hard to shine. While the Wii is the strongest growing console, itÂ’s a risk not to have well known brands in your games.

I find it ironic though that this big fat ass from 2K complains about there being so many bad games for the wii and has himself released the carnival games series for it, what a fckng hypocrite. How about said douche bag stops complaining about *****ty wii games and starts making great ones himself!

The Wii does have a LOT of crap games. a LOT arnt worth buying and are priced way to high.
I'm not comparing the games to PS3 and 360 but if I did they wouldnt even come close to the quality. The Wii has the lowest quality of games out atm. They look really bad. I also hate the controller. I prefer a controller like the 360 or PS3 compared to the wiimote which is a very uncomfortable block in your hand. Next time make it fit the hand kinda like the nunchuck which still needs work on it. At least the 360 controller is comfortable to play with.
As for the games, there are too many new devs making poor games and flodding the market with crap. How about combining about 5 of your games into 1 and make a good game.
Flame me all you want but its true. Get a game on the PS3/360 and compare it to the Wii version. You wont finish the Wii version as its crap compared to the PS3/360 version.

The Wii offer QUALITY entertainment. What you FAIL to understand is that QUALITY is subjective. Obvious the MAJORITY do NOT AGREE with your take on the subject.
MAJORITY matters. Not you. That's why numbers never lie. The numbers in question are SALES and the NUMBER of purchasers.
So for you to say numbers don't matter or number lie....is for you to say that people don't matter. Which is funny, because that would include yourself!

Now, in this generation, if we are to meassure up the amount of crappy games (that is, games that are barely even worth renting or looking at), it might amount to this:
XBOX 360: ~30%
PS3: ~40%
Wii: ~85%
I also agree with Cristoph Hartman, with so many crappy games on the Wii, more people will be discouraged to try and develop good games because other people might believe that it's just another worthless game. And a great amount of the people in the gaming community is losing respect for the console and even Nintendo. And when a gem of a game from a third party will arrive to the Wii, people might ignore it. That is a real shame, but it's the truth and you have to stop being in denial. I, like many, bought the Wii out of loyalty to Nintendo, but I haven't played mine since November (I bought Animal Crossing: City Folk and was extremely dissapointed).
