Given Wii's domination across the charts, one would think that Nintendo is taking the cake this generation. William Usher of CB Games begs to differ, making a list of 10 games that "will murder the Wii". They're saying that Wii is a fad, and won't be able to go toe-to-toe with the Sony PS3 in the near future.And the 10 games that Usher believes will kill the Nintendo Wii are:

Its obvious the wii isn't meant to go 'toe to toe with ps3' - that 's just plain dumb to suggest that a console designed for a completely different market and doing really well is supposed to compete with an overpriced dvd player.
but it won't "murder" the wii... i've got a PS3 and i believe in these games (although i've only got my sights set on three of them) but it would be foolish to believe that it will kill the wii... but i do hope so, the wii is a piece of crap.
that the PS3 is overpriced hasn't used one yet.
last i checked the wii is making considerable profit in each unit sold while Sony is actually losing money with every PS3... so please if any product in this discussion is "overpriced" it is definitely not the Playstation 3.

...Most people are getting the Wii because they're waiting for the games to pour out, most noticeably MGS4, Bio Shock, and others to see if the $479.99 Elite and the $599.99 PS3 is worth the purchase. I'm not saying that the Wii won't survive, but after this Christmas, only the Mario games will be worth purchasing, as most Wii games can also go out on the PS2 as well (If you have one)

Other games of interest are Uncharted, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, and maybe Killzone. Of course the Wii will not be "Murdered" by the PS3. But these games should close the gap, assuming there is a price cut to go along with them. Nintendo is smart in releasing its biggest games at the end of 2007 when the Wii will be strongest. After that, its all PS3. I'm sitting back watching the fireworks for now. The Wii is tearing up the charts, but can it last? My Wii has been collecting dust since I stopped playing WarioWare and Monkey ball. I just don't see it having a future after 2-3 years but who knows. I'm just a cranky hardcore gamer who sees this generation falling to the casuals. Do they even buy games? What the heck.

The wii will not be killed by anyone it will die out on its own. Why? Because the people who are interested in it are very limited in comparison with hardcore gamers which go with a ps3 or a 360, and when all people who want a wii,get a wii now that Nintendo is meeting the demand (the only reason for the explosive sales of the wii....stock shortage) the sales will drop down to a minimum (well below of the xbox and ps3) and sustained by children that just got old enough for their mums to by them their first and cheap console at age 10...

It may have seemed impressive a year ago, and the water still looks great today, but to me, the graphics in the game are 'muddy' and unappealing, and I've seen nothing of the gameplay which has impressed me so far in videos.
There are MANY future PS3 games which look better and appear to play better imo, so no way should Lair be at number 1 on that list. :|

Personally I belive, yes, this will kill off the Wii. The fact plain and simple is that the wii is a fad. As an owner of a Wii I know at first they seem exciting and new, but after you get over the motion they get old and dull. More gamers will swing towards the Wii at first, but when they realise the lack of 'blockbuster' games other than mini-games they will soon swing to either the 360 or PS3. The Wii is more aimed at non-gamers and children in my opinion, and will keep the attention of children longer than gamers, because of its repatition.

That my wii roomate has bought a subscriptions service to rent games, the list he submitted only has one wii game on it. the rest of the list is split 50/50 between 360 and PS3. Does that mean he is becoming a "hardcore gamer"?

The wii and ps3 target 2 diffrent types of people and when people buy a wii they usally go and buy a diffrent console also , I own a wii and currently thinking of buying a 360. I think all 3 systems are great but I think ps3 is gonna loose because of its price, I know even if i was still working i wouldnt buy one when i can buy other stuff ex: new phone, new tv, new computer, clothes, take a girl somewhere, etc...

Got to be kidding me.. None of the three systems are going anywhere. Hell Nintendo has even said they're not competing with the other two companies. Are you completely stoned? The "hardcore" gamers is a niche at best...maybe 1 of 20 people that play games if your lucky...realistically probably more like 50 to 1. The ps3 has some great games coming out but if you think something like Lair will outsell say Wii Play or Mario Galaxy your out of your mind. I have all 3 consoles and both portables, so I tend to play whats good and dont worry about fanboyish loyalty. I can easily see the ps3 being this generations Dreamcast". Before you bash look at the quality of games that were on the DC and the 3rd parties jumping ship and the "hardcore" gamers going on and on about it...then tell me the parallels arent there. Yeah but casual gamers don't buy a whole lot of games . They just buy the console on impulse because it's cheap and fun but they wont spend a whole lot of money on games for it especially since it comes with a game already.Once everybody has a Wii but no one is buying games it will die. they made me buy two games. I picked up zelda and wario wares. Wario wares sucked so I traded it in to get a discounted F.E.A.R. for my PS3. Wii sports and Zelda are the only two games I have enjoyed and 1 is free. I have no plans to buy any other game for the Wii unless it is an exclusive such as Mario Party mainly because the graphics arent that great and I do get tired of swinging the wiimote.
Surely hes missed some of the biggest games MGS4, GT4, DMC4, and how can you forget FF13 - which i expect will by itself save the PS3 in Japan.

It's not a fad it's a fun console. Just not fun enough for pimplely teenagers like yourself. The Wii started with the casual market and is branching out to the hardcore market. The PS3 started with the hardcore market and will branch out to the casual market in 3 to 4 years time when it's affordable to that market.
Nintendo will sell every single Wii it can possibly produce this year. None of these titles are going to stop that.
Anyway for now the PS3 has enough competition from the GBA to keep it busy until some decent software comes out.

1. Go to your local Target/Walmart/Meijers/Best Buy
2. Look to see if they have and PS3 sitting on the shelf. (The answer is probably yes.)
3. Look to see if they have any Wii in stock. (That's most likely a no.)
4. Stop, notice the large gap in sales between PS3 and Wii.

Im guessing that most people that actually own a 360 dont know what "Technical Specifications" Are. Ps3 is A true monster under the hood... Xbox Is just a stripped down computer. Just the ps3's graphic card pulls about 1 Terra flop. And wii is fun when u get it but after that it just gets boring the only thing that you guys have is super mario brawl (And yes i know that the game hasn't come out yet)

The Xbox 360 can't even compete with the PlayStation 3, the PS3 is a fully functional computer, Blu-Ray player, media center, and more! The 360 just does games, movies, + music... Now Microsoft is doing exactly what Nintendo did with the DS, made a new version because they failed at their older one.

I think the xbox 360 is the main competition of the PS3, the wii caters to a different market. I just bought a wii and currently have an xbox 360, you won't be impress by the wii's graphics but its arcade like controls is fun. If PS3 and xbox 360 would release something similar like the wii's wireless controller, then the wii would be in trouble.
The current xbox 360 game list is more impressive than the one listed above. Consumer shows that PS3 has little demand, i barely see anyone buy's a PS3 at an electronics store. It's either the wii or the xbox 360, but the wii seems to be selling better.

Most devs agree that the GPU in the 360 has the edge over the Geforce7 based GPU in the PS3, whilst the CPU in the PS3 has the edge over the CPU in the 360 for arithmetic, and the CPU in the 360 has the edge over the PS3 for running code. The PS3 has the edge in terms of the storage capacity of Blu-ray compared to DVD, whilst the 360 has the edge in terms on available RAM for games. And so on. Hence overall, they say the two consoles are about equal.
So don't talk about technical specs when you're obviously clueless to their meaning, and more so than those you talk about.
Well everyone seems to brag about the price of the PS3 (yes, I do own one) and not being much of a game console and that's because it isn't. It's NOT just a game console, you can play (or store) movies to it, same with music and (don't really see the point) pictures too. But I guess the pictures feature would be useful for Home. When I'm using my computer, I let my PS3 play my music and knock off a few cpu power from my PC. And if I'm rendering something on my PC, I switch my monitor mode to the hdmi and can play a game or watch a movie while my computer is being used (or maybe go for a walk or drive). But the point is, the PS3 can do more than just gaming. There's no need for a 5 disc cd changer or a dvd player when I can save space and money on the PS3.

i think that price is the first thing people think about when buying a console. games come second. what if all of the consoles cost the same ( say the all cost 300$) PERSONALY i think that ps3 would be in the lead right now. because of how well the ps2 did and the fanbase and the games. I the wii would be second because its fun to play, the 360 would be last because it doesnt do anything different then the ps3( it has MOST of the same games and features) and once again the sony fanbase is huge meaning that everyone who owned a ps1-2-p will MOST LIKELY get a ps3. but in reality the wii is winning not because of the last-gen graphics or the vary few childish games or the tiring motion controllers. its because its cheap, an affordable gift that you can give anyone. In the end, theres no ten games that can put the ps3 above the wii. only a price cut will help. only smart, hard working, idiots with money buy ps3 like me.

I have a PSP, Playstation 2 and Playstation, Ive played Metal Gear Solid, each version, across the platforms, each different style of gameplay, still I only played it at most 3 times before I threw it in the back of my game shelf where it collected dust for 1-4 years, til I sold it for $3...
