QJ LogoSome of our more observant readers may have noticed a few new changes here at QJ.NET today! We've heard your suggestions and have implemented a new feature that should make everyone happy - Registered and Unregistered users alike! At the top of each article's comment list you will find and option to either "Hide" or "Show" comments made by Unregistered users. This will allow everyone to share their opinion and interact with the QJ.NET Community, but also enables the option to not view Anonymous Comments if you personally feel they aren't worth reading - the choice is up to you!

Comment Filter

Speaking of the QJ.NET Community, we are also unveiling a new feature that will help connect QJ.NET and our readers with the rest of the internet, as well as your own personal webpages and blogs! The Trackback feature is your chance to let other users know where to find sites and content that are referencing the news and articles you read here at QJ.NET. You will find these "trackbacks" at the end of the comment list for each article. So how does it work? Simply submit a related URL that contains a link back to QJ.NET, enter your name and a short description and your link will be processed and added to the article! It's that easy!

Trackback

But the new stuff doesn't stop there! As a courtesy to all of you RSS users out there, we've added a page that lists all of the different subjects and categories covered here at QJ.NET, so if you're interested in specific content while you're on the go, make sure to check out our RSS Feeds by Category section!

As always, we are interested to hear your opinion on these new features, as well as any other changes or additions you'd like to see here at QJ.NET! Be sure to leave us a comment and let us know what you think. Of course, the easiest way to let us know you like these new features is to Jump it Up!

To ensure that the majority of our readers are aware of these new features, this post will remain at the top of the news list for part of the day. Look below for the latest news and updates!

Wow

Wow.. :)

h

Blocking registered users' comments would be much more useful.
by InflamedSpirit - 2006-06-01 15:22:19
YES!

Thank you! Now people shouldn't complain continually about the anonymous/unregistered comments. However, now I have to press the annoying login button. I suggest making it when you login not refresh to the main page but stay on the page you are viewing so you can comment right away rather than click back and forth. It would make logging in a whole lot less annoying. (Or switch back to using the blogger one)

OK. I think this is kind of pointless...

by - 2006-06-01 15:59:28
Hmm...

Gotta love censorship. I bet PSPUpdates are a branch of the Bush Administration. Now I'll have to register to piss people off.
by Toaster99 - 2006-06-01 16:00:45
Cool

This site has really become an impressive one and im glad that the comment posting feature is finally compatible with my Mac running Safari.

by hush404 - 2006-06-01 16:14:07
Thank you!

An option to hide morons =)
by - 2006-06-01 16:17:39
Im assuming IS is talking about

How when you log in, it brings you back to the main page, and you gotta go find the page you wanted to post the comment on.
by j_dawg469 - 2006-06-01 16:19:44
Thank god...

It's about time you did something the spammers and idiots on this site, but imo you should just have everyone have to register to make comments period.

by - 2006-06-01 16:40:11
Makes no difference to me at all

When ever I read the blogs and I see alot of annonymous flaming going on, I simply ignore it and don't waste my time responding. It is as simple as that but obviously some people cannot resist throwing more wood in the fire and forget that it is only the internet.
by RaiderX - 2006-06-01 16:57:43
yea, wuts the point

its all good, but blocking unregistered comments? I wont use it, I enjoy reading the noobs make asses of themselves =P
by Justin B - 2006-06-01 17:04:34
Cinnebts 0

It's just a filter, it is set to show Anon Comments on default, so no one is losing out when they come to the site for the first time.
by justD - 2006-06-01 17:15:28
gud gud gud

by Shamoo - 2006-06-01 17:28:30
Awesome.

Majority of Unregistered posters are crap. I've been wondering why I haven't seen "first post" in a while. Nice job QJ.
by Exodium - 2006-06-01 17:44:51
InflamedSpirit

InflamedSpirit is saying that he doesn't let windows remind his passwords, and so that he has to press the login button everytime he vistits the site.. man what a job... pres a button... (correct me if i'm wrong;) ) Greetz!!!
by - 2006-06-01 17:50:39
not really

This wont make any difference, what annoys me more than kidiots spamming and having flame wars is qj mods deleting any posts they dont agree with, your allowed an opinon as long as it matches theirs. While they can be bothered to go through and delete any posts that they dont agree with they seem to leave the flaming and abuse for everyone to 'enjoy'. Delete pointless spam, fair enough but anything else should be left even if its likely to cause flaming or if it disagrees with the original article
by - 2006-06-01 18:09:21
yea

i hope you *****goty bloggers are happy now, so you can stop *****ing about us anons...

by ayrkain - 2006-06-01 18:32:22
Hey, QJ!

Would it be possible to make the default view "Hide" so that RSS readers don't have to read 'em? Or make the default view in the RSS feed hide the unreg.s?
by Schluptnut - 2006-06-01 18:40:00
Haha.......

Now that Im registered you creeps will see my name no matter what! hahahahahaha. For the moment at least.
by -P3Z- - 2006-06-01 18:44:38

by - 2006-06-01 19:18:02

by bigshynepo - 2006-06-01 19:19:37
THANK YOU

now just stay up on the member banning and things will get better around here. I will always have my filter on, unregistered members opinions no longer have to matter! I love it!
by tito0096 - 2006-06-01 19:23:22
yes yes yes!!!!

finaly we are left in peace from freanken spammers
by - 2006-06-01 19:35:41
No equal opportunity?

Give us our option to block registered members.
by tito0096 - 2006-06-01 19:37:14
NO you are a visitor....... just register

Register and we wouldnt have this option!!!!

by - 2006-06-01 19:42:44
No

I'm not registering just to inflate QJ's member count to impress their advertisers with. I don't even see their ads. I like the community here but I don't like the fascist dictatorship that runs the place. If unregistered comments can be blocked then give us the option to block registered comments as well.
by tito0096 - 2006-06-01 19:47:22
The user comments make sence

u guys just spamm and ruin the mooment
by - 2006-06-01 19:50:44
.

I don't spam. Don't generalize.
by toxic-snipe - 2006-06-01 20:10:58
Hmm...

tito0096 is a hippocrit.
by tito0096 - 2006-06-01 20:17:35
IM NO HIPICRIT IM JUST SAYING THE TRUTH

there are SOME visitors that dont spame but MOST do and us redistries dont want to hear some noobs wining or flaming over opinions or facts
by InflamedSpirit - 2006-06-01 20:35:39
Login Problem

When I am on a comment page (before I sign in) and I type in my name and password and press login, I am directed back to the main page (I am no longer on the comment page I was planning on commenting on). I only log in when I am planning on posting something and I only decide to post something after I have read the full article and glanced at the comments.
by - 2006-06-01 21:31:44
.

What's the point of logins anyway? There's no lack of idiots who have opinions. Forcing them to log in isn't going to change anything.
by - 2006-06-01 21:56:41
re: #48

It's an easier way to settle arguments. 8D People will still turn the blocking off so they feel like they're not being left out or criticized.
by tito0096 - 2006-06-01 22:13:48
good point lupin

yea that would be nice or a temp registration would sove stuff like 50 comments per temp and unlimited for register people -something like that-
by - 2006-06-01 22:48:31
W00t

If you are reading this, you should hide anonymous posts :P lol
by cory1492 - 2006-06-01 22:48:38
wohoo

no more reading about what some people arent bothering to think about.
by OAP pepper - 2006-06-01 23:11:20
Nice work!

Excellent work, the category stuff is most welcome. Remember you can now read the PSP Updates news DIRECT from your psp by using rss2psp.com.
by - 2006-06-01 23:32:19
block me

hey u registered *****s block me
by - 2006-06-01 23:35:49
haha

Unregistered for life!!!
by - 2006-06-02 00:38:29
hmm...

A lot of unregistered users have constructive comments to make, unlike the certain few who just post "OMGZ FERST POST" and flame everyone. The only reason I post as unregistered is because of the annoyance of having to sign in all the time. For some reason it signs me out after making a comment. Those who choose to use this feature will more than likely end up not using it, as conversations will make no sense if a registered user replies to an unregistered user's comment. As much as we all hate spammers, its just gonna cause confusion
by - 2006-06-02 01:32:43
no description

whats the point?? would unregistered users comments not be as good as registered users? instead of that "jump it up" filter , how about a "crap news" filter?? that would filter away 80% of whats on the main page & leave the "worth my time" stuff
by - 2006-06-02 02:04:46
...

90% of post are by unregistered users so no point in hiding them or else you wont be reading any comments lol
by - 2006-06-02 02:12:14
Think this will be most confusing

O thank god those stupid noobs won't get on my mind anymore!
by DN2004 - 2006-06-02 03:24:26
Agree

you notice how all people who respect the site actually have an account... all people that probably whining about this feature are unregistered... just proves something =) cant wait to see more features QJ, you are the best PSP news site around, and I agree with most of the other comments by the registered people! and i agree no more reading idiotic comments!
by Retman - 2006-06-02 03:36:42
yey

Excellent now those stupid noobs wont get on my nerves unless they join.....naw, their too stupid they wont know how to.
by .A.J. - 2006-06-02 05:56:25
Cool Option

I visited this site for a long time as an unregistered and finally gave up and registered. Now there is an actual benefit to being registered. I get tired of most of the childish garbage that is posted on here, however, anytime your discussing video games you're bound to end up dealing with the kiddies. At least this way I can ignore the lazy kiddies and adults that merely come here to *****. As a man who knows nothing about programing/coding I appreciate any and all work that is posted here, even if I'll never use it. The reason: Some guy who I'll likely never know spent his/her time and effort producing something that they thought would bennifit themselves and others and is GIVING IT AWAY FOR FREE!!!!! Far too many people here ***** and whine about something that they could not do themselves. If they could they wouldn't be here complaining, but, instead would be writing thier own stuff (which they would probably be too selfish to share anyway). That is the reason you may have noticed me always saying to "Send _____ your hard earned cash". These guys could be charging for this stuff. Some of them do charge and that is fine with me because they are the ones that did the work. As soon as I find a new job (my employer has asked me to relocate with the company but I choose not too), I will be sending a few of these guys some money. It likely won't be much as I have a family to take care of, but it truely is the thought that counts. Anyhow, thanks to all those who work soo hard toward making the PSP the best portable system out there, whatever thier motivation is. I, for one, am extremely grateful. Thanks also to QJ.net for giving me access to all this great stuff.
by - 2006-06-02 06:28:39
HEY!

Remember that sweet news site PSPHacker? Haha.. me too!
by - 2006-06-02 07:54:47
Pfft.

I hope you all know that registered users have every bit the potential to be just as stupid, ignorant and braindead as any Anonymous user can be. Lord knows 80% of registered users still ARE that stupid. Just thought that this information would be helpful to you fine people at QJ.net
by mnky - 2006-06-02 08:35:23
finally....

I posted Anon for a while but at least this will help people realise that they arent truly anon.
by - 2006-06-02 08:39:34

cool

Just wand to say something useless LOL!!!
by plastik - 2006-06-02 10:36:36
ok...

I've decided to go through the pain of logging in after every comment simply because it appears all unregistered users are branded as flaming spammers... and I don't like being labelled. I think we should just go back to registered comments only, but only if you fix the logging in issue. That way there is no segregation
by - 2006-06-02 13:46:11
