Slant Six developing new Resident Evil?

Rumors have it that a new Resident Evil title is in the works, but this time, it's going on over at Slant Six Games' developing studio. The SOCOM: US Navy Seals creators are said to have been tapped by Capcom for the task, and has thereby bulked up their staff for the project. This was according to a document forwarded to Kotaku.

Slant Six has recently updated its official website, stating that they are currently working "on an amazing new project", which is tied up with "a new publishing partner on a world class franchise." On the other hand, all that Capcom had to say about this is that they do "not respond to rumors and/or speculation."

Adding fuel to the fire are posts from several Slant Six employees (both former and current), cliaming that a "multiplayer action game" for the PS3 and Xbox 360 is in the works. We'll keep you updated on this one, but so far, this doesn't sound too farfetched, we think.

slant six is the worse developing company to have stepped into the games industry. the socom they developed was broken, full of glitches and dull character movement, gameplay design was trash. i dont think slant six should be the one to develop resident evil, because everything they touch they destroy, like they did with socom franchise. and the game is still broken. goto the socom confrontation forums and you will realise the truth about slant six. anyway i would never buy another game developed by these half ass creators.

SOCOM: Confrontation failed because Sony not Slant Six. Yes, Slant Six did make the game, but they were not in control of its release date. They asked to push the game back and Sony didn't let them just so they can sell more PS3's that holiday season....and they did

Slant Six is a great developer, they just didn't have enough time because Sony forced Confrontation out early. I still play Confrontation, its my favorite shooter on PS3.

I think Slant Six can do a great job if they're given a proper time frame.

Give them one more chance, maybe they learned their mistakes. Perhaps they have more control over the development process this time around eh?
