Yoshinori Ueda: DOA: Paradise is not soft porn

You've seen the naughty pics. You've watch the eye-popping videos. But if you thought Dead or Alive: Paradise is a raunchy type of game, you're wrong. According to Yoshinori Ueda, the game was made to show off the beauty of the female form and was not meant to be a softcore porn nor degrade the women body. In an interview with Eurogamer, Ueda defended his game and said:

From our perspective, we're trying to make beautiful women, that has been the focus - we want our characters to be beautiful. The DOA characters are strong and that they look the way they do is based on trying to bring out the beauty of women.

We're certainly not trying to degrade women. They have beautiful bodies. We're trying to show off the beauty of their bodies but we're not trying to be degrading about it - we're trying to show that they are beautiful characters.

It's not that we were trying to make softcore porn. That's definitely not the goal.

What we offer is a selection of things to play and activities to have fun with. The players have the freedom to play Paradise however they want.

So there you have it guys. The Dead or Alive spinoff is set to arrive on the PSP this March.

I've never seen people pissed off over a great artist's nude drawing/painting. Even though they leave every detail to the very hair on the body.

Last time I watched the summer Olympics, there were 4 female players in bikinis playing beach volleyball wid 2 on each side of the net broadcast worldwide.

I made a comment when one girl spiked the ball,"she really slams all 3 of them"....two other girls were stereotyping me for being perverted yet that was exactly what that was happening on screen.............why is beach volleyball embrace by so many and not consider softporn??? yet Dead or Alive is targeted 4 soft porn.

I mean it doesn't get anymore realistic that watching 4 real women in bikinis battle it out.......who knows how many guys are getting hard off of that?

Clearly have no idea of what is pornography. To call DOA pornography - even if "soft" - is so out of bounds that it's like travelling to another continent just to buy your morning bread when all you have to do is go down the street.

Not sure about paradise, but at least with some of the older parts of the series, any game that has a feature to make their tits jiggle more definitely has something in mind other then making women only 'beautiful'. Oh, and yeah, same game you could unlock and nude scene.

From what fans now expect from this game, that statement is likely to only hurt sales from pent-up gamers looking for some interactive girls any way they can get them.

WTH!? I agreed its not considered as a soft-porn, but surely it is mature type of game, DOA paradise doesn't even have any topless scenes which shows nipples "correct me if im wrong" although voyeurismn is there which is normal to those weird Japanese otakus, Unlike the "GOD OF WAR" which has sexual interacts and semi nude scenes which you may considered as a soft-porn,

a "nude patch" is a small graphical hack wherein you can either select a certain outfit that has been changed to give the characters genitals and nipples making the game into porn its been done to lots of games mostly computers games infact from what ive heard theirs even a community dedicated to making nude patches to mmo games

And Monmon, I'm pretty sure some people are considering this as softcore porn is because it looks like 90% of the game is focused on near-nudity of 8 different woman and 10% is focused on petty little games to give it some reason.

...this game does not scream hardcore fighter to me (no pun intended). It seems a desperate move by the makers of Dead or Alive to continue to sell the franchise and the decision to have half naked women running around could well backfire. I would consider buying the game if it came out for wii as the console has a lack of fighters at the moment but I would think twice lol. I am not gonna buy a fighting with a bunch of boobs flapping around and no male characters. Just stupid.
