Watch: Resident Evil 2, Rage Racer on PlayStation phone

It technically hasn't been revealed yet, but Sony's "PlayStation phone" has already made the rounds on the web. We've seen pictures of it, so now let's see some more of what it can do.

The video below shows a couple of games running on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. There's Resident Evil 2(or Biohazard 2, as the case may be) and Rage Racer.

We all know Sony is completely incapable of keeping a secret and as far as i'm aware nothing's been said about this thing playing Psp games apart from rumours, so all i see here is an Android phone with a Ps1 and possibly Psp minis emulator, the only difference from any other Android phone is gaming buttons replacing a keypad.

No that's Psp2 they massively exaggerating the specs about, just like the claims of photo realistic graphics on Ps2 and exaggerations about Ps3 capabilities.

The two dots in the middle are the "thumbsticks".. basically touch sensitive areas that act as dual sticks. Also, this isn't the PSP2. That's going to have two actual joysticks.

what we are seeing is sony's android psp hybrid phone running the buggy PS1 emulator "psx4droid". Get your facts straight, "rom buddy" is an app for downloading game backups(roms) not for running them.

Yeah that's just an ok ps1 emu.. also, he didn't use the effing track pad! I want to know if its like dual analog sticks or a slider type deal, or if those little shiney hubs on each side are little buttons like L3 or R3

Oh great another device from Sony where we get to play those crappie PSX games. FFS stop playing the same game on every freakin machine available, It's ridiculous.

Sony should have released that phone back then when the first iPhone was announced.

By now most people own a psp and a cell phone as well. The only thing this does is combine a psp with an xperia and there u have it. Worthless to people like me who like i sayd already own a psp in addition to a cell. This adds nothing new to the gaming industry so everyone can move along nuttin see here.
