For those of you who have been (and still are) very curious about Edia's MAPLUS Portable Navi software for the PSP, you're gonna be very pleased with yourself for clicking on this post. (Errr...most probably, at least.)

But just in case you're new to this whole thing, let us give you a quick primer: MAPLUS Portable Navi is a navigation software that makes use, and takes advantage of, the recently released PSP GPS receiver. Sadly though, both the GPS receiver and the MAPLUS Portable Navi haven't been released here in the U.S. and we dunno if the two will ever land on our shores. But nonetheless, we still decided to bring you guys this video 'cuz you can always have it imported, right? Hehehe.

And besides, if you're really into the whole GPS thing, you can always opt for Deniska's MapThis homebrew which you can get right here. Thanks to PSP-Vault, we're now given a closer look at how the MAPLUS Portable Navi will work and play out on our PSPs. Enjoy the zmcnulty-uploaded vid!

» how?

even if we import this, will it work with the us maps (I don't think so) since the software is not loaded w/US maps and dose map this homebrew works with sony's GPS. it would REALLY SUCK if this dosn't show up, bet then again if it was going to come, christmas time would have been the best time, again sony screwing it's customers. Thank you sony.

The reason street lights aren't on is because almost all of Japan's streets, don't have names.

Trust me on this one.

» GPS Compatibility?

Is the hacked remote control plug the only way to get Daniska's MapThis to work?

Is there any info on using this one (with a USB Mini adapter of course)

i figure the gps will come to the US. In the Metal Gear Solid Portabel ops, the manual talks about using the gps system. and it also says release date to be anounced.

I fail to see how Sony are screwing people with this. They never said the GPS would come to anywhere outside of Japan.

'I dont understand this fking idiots at sony and almost every other company those same *****.

everyone know the GPS will be a hot sale here in usa so why not fking release this ***** already damn it wtf

I rather spend $51 n the gps and $49 for the software than spending $500 or more for some bullsht.

wtf sony why dont u release this ***** here??????? even ppl who dont play much game will actually buy the psp just for the gps and the extra goddies.

wtf are they waiting for>?????????????? once the price of gps system go down, let say about $100 or $200 then the gps for the psp is not going to be selling well. sony is gay and i got MGS ops I wish the fking gps was out gay sony
