Yes, it bears more than a passing resemblance to the Monster Hunter games, but it looks like Namco Bandai's God Eater is more than a mere clone for the popular Capcom franchise. It also has shades of Devil May Cry thrown in, so it actually takes from two Capcom franchises!
I kid, I kid. The game actually looks pretty awesome as I said in my previous God Eater post. That's just reinforced by this new promo vid. The graphics may not look like the best but I'll be damned if I don't play this, if only for that morphing gun-sword-chainsaw weapon. Oh, and watch out for a Rufus Shinra cameo! No, he's not really in there, but the dude sitting behind the desk sure looks like him.
Japan's getting this game in Fall 2009. Hopefully Namco Bandai makes use of that God Eater trademark they filed in the US a while back.

what the hell??!! the game looks like ***** graphically and gameplay doesnt look that much either..hmm compare this to MH and its fuel for disgrace..lol
i'll just wait it out and see if it's any good besides it ain't coming over to the us or eur i that sense any time soon. it'll be japan first as usual or japan only. xD
i love the mh series. i might learn to love this one if it's any good.
the human's model looks pretty bad, but everything else looks fine
on another note: Those are GARGANTUOUS weapons those little guys are holding

and the music seems WAY BETTER than lameo forest music in MH

with a story, this makes it better than MH well... no boring crack like in MH
There's a monster in that video that looks like the monsters Kadaj and his gang use to attack Cloud when he's on his motorcycle and the ones that they use to attack Midgar before they summon Bahamut.
