Vice City Stories rated '16' in Germany

It appears that German gamers will miss out on the more 'adult' features of a Grand Theft Auto title, this time with Rockstar's latest title due to hit the PSP in October, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK), who control software ratings for games released in Germany, has tagged the game with a '16' rating for the country. Now some of the 16-year old German gamers out there may be rejoicing, but all is not how it seems.

Due to the age restriction of 16, the game will be stripped of some of the adult features that the UK and US versions have such as headshot animations, not being able to kick pedestrians corpses, as well as the prostitution 'feature' of the game. These features will most likely be taken out of the Australian version of the game too, as the Australian office of Film and Literature Classification have labelled GTA:VCS as an 'MA 15+' title, although the platform mentioned is the PS2 version.

I'm german, too, but I can live with the cut features. Headshot animations are really not that important if you ask me, the only thing I might miss are the amok runs.

I really don't know which version I shall by now, because I'm afraid nobody else around here will buy the us version, so I might miss the multiplayer mode, but then again, my friends who have a psp don't play GTA anyway...

And the US-Version has a german translation anyway...

german too, the last us gta version and the uk version were uncut and with german language, so i think it will be the same with vice city stories, and if not i can handle a game in english^^

Was the German GTALCS Version cuted? Because I've got a version bought in Austria (German speaking neigbourland of Germany) which was uncut (but rated 18). As Austria is a small country i don't think they'd press extra UMDs for that a small market (even though the european UMDs are printed over here)

i where in germany 3 weeks ago... my friend(his german

) showed me that one of his DVDs with the german box but the disc(dvd) made in usa

so the box says 16+

and the disc is 18+

Most Australian versions of movies, games etc that are rated 18 in UK/US are MA15+. So I'd imagine it would keep all its features.

I'm shocked that a country gets more cesorship for the first time than the overprotective USA , wow! this is shocking news. Anyways here in PR a friday 13 movie can be put on local channels as a pg movie and an american pie movie as a pg or pg 13 movie , USA is *****ed with all those R18+ and N17. I'm from the US (bet you didn't know that about God), but I like Australia a lot. Visited when I was younger.

And we Americans who are fighting the war on terror do appreciate the support of the Aussies and their long term vision of what this world CAN be 20-30 years from now.
