Top ten songs sure to get you on that "Burnout" mood -- NOT safe for driving!

Guns N Roses tops the must-not-haves when driving - Image 1You know how music actually affects your general disposition in any particular activity you engage in, right? Well, Electronic Arts certainly recognizes that as fact, hence they teamed up with AOL music to come up with a list that will certainly get drivers in that "Burnout" mood, but would be definite must-avoids if they wanna survive life on the fast lane.

The poll was conducted to mark the release of EA's PSP race-action title Burnout Dominator. The concept behind the poll is rather simple as well. The list basically represents those songs that "got people in the 'Burnout' mood to drive aggressively, get the blood pumping and the adrenaline racing." And the finding was pleasantly surprising. Mostly, people recognize rock classics as the ultimate type of songs that could drive them to push that gas pedal just a little harder until they smell burning rubber.

So pretty much, if you're driving only behind your PSP with Burnout Dominator, then the list could prove really helpful in getting that vibe on. But when you're out in the real world, then you should essentially stay away from the songs in this list. Here's the top ten adrenaline-boosting songs that drivers should avoid in the real world:
  1. Paradise City (Guns N Roses)
  2. Song 2 (Blur)
  3. Bat Out of Hell (Meat Loaf)
  4. Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
  5. When We Were Young (The Killers)
  6. Buck Rogers (Feeder)
  7. You Will Be Under My Wheels (Prodigy)
  8. Born To Run (Bruce Springsteen)
  9. This Ain't A Scene... (Fall Out Boy)
  10. Tainted Love (Soft Cell)
Personally, I would have put in the list any Aerosmith song. Nothing like good ol' Steve Tyler's strong vocals turning up the melancholy knob, alongside pure energetic angst. Sheer genius. You, what's on your list?

WHAT?!? Not for BurnOut...The Sims, maybe.

Wow...Who the hell is head of the creative decisions at EA to come up with such utterance?! Firstly, the songs are GAY for a fast paced driving game...well, maybe not Prodigy's...Don't get me wrong, most of the bands and groups on the list kick mayor ass, but they picked THE WRONG TUNES!!! Paradise City is deffinately NOT gonna put me in the fast mood for dmolishing and reckless driving, hence what this game is all about...They shoulda put something else by GNR like You could Be Mine or Welcome to the Jungle. + Prodigy has much better songs than that one. This list pretty much SUCKS ASS for this kind of game...Somebody should get fired for this. XP

Interesting...

Fall Out Boy! Oh yeah baby! Now there's a track! If I could get my hair out of my eyes and didn't sit in a corner my whole life whining about how the world is unfair to me, that would SO be my driving song... that is... if i ever get my licence... Ok so finishing the emo bashing... Not a bad list, but Fall Out Boy and The Killers really need to pave the way for Golden Earring's Radar Love, Metallica's Fuel, and (and this one's just a personal fave, but it's in my folder for IRSMP3 when I play PSP) Papa Roach's ...To Be Loved. Not bad... I guess now we know who's the target of EA's marketing - get those black tears out folks! --Databoy2k

Maybe not reckless

It might not be reckless, but the song "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen is Top Gear's #1 driving song of all time.

they were RIGHT

Paradise city IS CRAZYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! would make you @#$#$ JUMP everywhere and heavy metal hard!!! YEAH!!!!
by - 2007-04-19 07:54:07
wow

There's so many songs thatget me aggressive: Master of Puppets - Metalllica Vertigo - U2 Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard Holy Diver - Dio La Villa Strangiato - Rush You Really Got Me - Van Halen I - Kiss And MANY more. Fallout Boy would get me aggressive, yes, but only because their music is so terrible.

Has Spoken

The only reason i would avoid listening to fall out gay is so i dont smash the car into a wall i like the soundtrack for burnout dominator... avril lavigne in 4 different languages is really my idea of music to crash cars to... yeah nice one EA... keep up the *cough* good work
by - 2007-04-19 11:58:40
so...uhh...

Whoever made this list must have been high at the time. Bruce Springsteen and Fall Out Boy do not belong on a list of songs for a driving game. If you want to "get people in the 'Burnout' mood to drive aggressively, get the blood pumping and the adrenaline racing.", then put up some The Devil Wears Prada or Underøath or Christ, even Bright Eyes would put me in a more aggresive mood then FOB.

BLACK SABBATH

Children of the Graveeeeeeeee IRON MAN!! Any song from Pantera's cowboys from hell CD!! and if you're brave enough, "WALK" by pantera BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
by mad_maniac - 2007-04-19 14:26:15
lol

i must be the only guy here that doesn't like metal... for an adrenaline rush techno does the job fine on me, but what really messes my mind is psy trance. full on or dark psy trance makes me wanna have wings on my car (and no, i dont do acids while driving)
by - 2007-04-19 14:28:42

by - 2007-04-19 19:27:58
AC/DC?

How in the living hell can this list not include Thunderstruck? Maybe it starts out a bit slow... but it's won me a fair few matches of Excite Truck...
by - 2007-04-21 09:55:52
metal...no

Wow, i agree with mad maniac. Man metal does not adrenaline me, makes me want to crash my car. When i'm driving, i need that music that just makes everything feel like its only me and the road, and everybody else is just a wall. So i slide through the gaps in traffic and Queen and Foo Fighters does it for me.
by - 2007-05-15 11:03:17
metal as an option??... i don't think so...

I say... The Clash - I Fought the law The Clash - Janie Jones Primal Scream - Rocks off The Black Crowes - Kicking my heart around Fun People - Masticar Pixies - Isla de Encanta Pixies - Oh my golly! ACDC - You shook me all night long Supergrass – Alright The Kinks – Lola (live) Third Eyed Blind – Semi charmed life Third Eyed Blind – Graduate and more...
