Weekly Famitsu is doing another feature on Dissidia: Final Fantasy in their next issue. They primarily talk about the game's Communication Mode (multiplayer) and, as you can see, features Cloud and Sephiroth rather prominently.

There are loads of pics of the Final Fantasy VII arch-enemies duking it out. Note the Limit Breaks as seen in the original game. Hot stuff.

The devs explain in the article their interpretation of Cloud and Sephiroth's fighting styles. Cloud would tend toward a "Smash and Blow" style while Sephiroth is naturally the "Blade Master," to use the dev's own words.

Perhaps more important than ogling the Final Fantasy swordsmen are the Multiplayer details mentioned.

Ad-Hoc Party will be supported. Screens of the online lobby show that it can hold up to 16 players with customized profiles. Each player my also store up to 50 "Friends Cards," with the newest cards replacing older ones as that limit is exceeded.

The Friend Cards are apparently more than just a digitized calling card. They store "Ghost" data which will essentially mimic players' fighting styles so you can practice with (or on) them even while they're not around. Not bad at all.

Multiplayer details:

- Ad-Hoc Party: The new PS3/PSP feature known as Ad-Hoc Party is supported in the Communication Mode. - Online Lobby: Holds up to 16 players. - Friend Card: Players can make their own profiles and store as Friend Card which can then be used as their identity in the lobby. You can keep up to 50 Friend Card, newest card will replace the oldest one if that amount is exceeded, and one way to boost that number is to turn your PSP into Sleep Mode, the game will start collecting Friend Card as soon as it detects another player who do the same. 16 is the maximum number for such transfer. Another use to the Friend Card is you don’t have to have your friends around to fight with them as it also store their Ghost data which mimic their fighting styles. - You can set your own rules for multi-player battles.
