With the recent release of Sony's God of War: Chains of Olympus title for the PlayStation Portable, it was only a matter of time before we saw a miniature version of the Ghost of Sparta brought to life in the form of a toy figurine.

The figurine, complete with Flaming Blades of Athena, was based on the prototypes created by Adam Smith and was developed by Randy Falk. Judging from the amount of detail put in to the creation of this bite-sized Kratos, it looks like this Spartan is ready to take on the gods once again.

Mini-Kratos was included as part of a press kit sent to geekpulp and there's even been word that some of these figurines might be given away during an upcoming airing of TV3's video game segment, Game 3. However, there's been no confirmation to this assumption and we'll all have to wait and see if this rumor holds any water to it.

Anyway, what's sure is the fact that fans of the series can now recreate their own bloody battles starring this tiny God of War. We'll be keeping track of where Kratos' adventures will next lead him to. Don't forget to return to this spot for more updates.

If it were for Chains Of Olympus, it would say so on the packaging. These figures were released quite some time ago for the first game. You can buy them online if you want for like, $10 or $12 or so. They even have ones for GoW II. Maybe this guy just got them as part of a deal because whoever was selling the game had a few of the action figures in stock? Either way, it's an awesome deal. But the point still stands that this figure wasn't made for this game specifically.

Don't quote me on the prices, by the way. I didn't think about the fact that the prices may have gone up do to the latest game.

The diorama thing is pretty cool, though.

# RE-READ THE F*CKING ARTICLE!!!...ChaoticInfinityX 2008-03-13 13:05
If you actually READ the article this is referencing... the guy got it in a press kit. No one is giving them away via retail purchases. It's not a special Collectors Edition version... obvious considering the game has been under a microscope well before it's release a week ago. In fact, the ONLY mention of any kind of CE was from some BS speculation by one of the commenters on the article's page.

I like this site, cause at times it has some new info well before others and also cause i get a good fix of PSP homebrew info... but mis-informed stories like this really mess up QJ.net's credibility.

# They are giving it away in PortugalTrop 2008-03-13 13:30
Here, in Portugal if you pre-order it online they are giving away the figure. For exemple check fnac site and search for chains. I'll see that they add an action figure of Kratos with the game.

# In Spain tooT101 2008-03-13 22:40
In Spain, in shops like Game or Fnac if you buy a pack with God of War 1 and 2, you get a figurine like this, 20 cm tall. The pack is 60-65€.

I hope this is true. I'm pondering on buying the God of War PSP bundle to replace my phat PSP. A free figurine of mighty Kratos would certainly put the sweetener on the deal.
