The Sony Ericcsson PSP v2: an artist's rendition

Sony Ericsson PSP2 by emrehusmen - Image 1What with all these rumors that abound online talking about the on-again-off-again, now-fake-now-real, ever-so-fabled "PSP2", it's still interesting to note that the possibility of Sony releasing one would be a dream come true. Speaking of dreams, what do you dream of for the PSP2 (if ever there will be one)?

Artist that he is, Emre Husmen just drafted his concept of what the PSP2 could possibly look like, and what features it could possibly have.

Given that Sony Ericsson logo, you'd instantly recognize that his concept art gives the PSP2 some cellphone functionality. Now, don't we all want that? His design also has two cameras: one on the face of the PSP, the other on the back. Hmm. 3G video conferencing capability, eh? Niiice.

There's been a couple of "fake" PSP2 pics floating around the net, and much to say, this one by Emre isn't necessarily a fake. We can't even say that it's a rumor because the concept art is real, and it's his own.

But as dreams may come, this "Sony Ericsson PSP v2" is definitely an eye catcher. Good work, Emre!

What about the analog stick (or sticks :D)?

Reply

# Not coolSaigon 2007-01-18 16:47
Not even 1 analog stick. It's to blocky looking, the current psp looks MUCH sexier than this. Not to mention using this as a cellphone wouldn't look cool and that camera is in worst position. At least it's not that glossy material that loves fingerprints.

# that's just what I was thinking...PSPZorZ 2007-01-18 16:47
Seriously... if there ever is a PSP2, it better have dual-analog sticks, or no one will buy it... not that I will buy it anyways, unless of course sony opens it up to homebrew.

# This wouldn't go over well with gamers.Guest 2007-01-18 16:52
Shows how much artists know about technology and games. The camera's in serious way of where your index finger would go and there's not even a single analog stick.

Let's see... Let's mix a Cellular Telephone with a Game Console, add in Proprietary formats ('cuz it's still Sony)... ... ...

WOW Deja-Vu! Or am I the only one left that remembers the NGage? Yeowch! I thought we proved that cellphones have to get SMALLER, not bigger, with that thing.

Hit the PSP with Bluetooth technology to TALK to cellphones, but let's NOT build one in. Nokia learned their lesson, I sure hope Sony has learned it vicariously!

Heres a question for you people-Can an object fall in freefall speed if dense matter is blocking the way? The obvious answer is NO. This is a FACT of gravity. You people need to ask yourselves why this law was suspended on one day and on one day only-9/11/01 with 3 different buildings ( WTC towers 1,2, and 7) falling in freefall speed. Where is the resistance and where is the "pancake" stack of floors? Thats kinda funny-A building thats suppose to collapse floor-by-floor in SEQUENCE, beeing able to collapse through it as if there were no matter/resistance blocking its path! GO TO VIDEO.GOOGLE.COM and type in 9/11 Mysteries and watch it to be PROVEN 110% that 9/11 was an inside job!

The 3G video conferencing with dual cam's.

All we'd need now is an Mini B USB matchbox

projector or built in and we'd be set.

Come on folks what could be better than

plugging a PSP into a monitor, projecting

you PSP onto a wall. $H!T YEAH!

Extra storage like the 32GB Pro HG built

into the unit with a cardslot supporting

another 32GB Pro HG for 64GB of storage

capacity.

Going from 32bit to 64bit kernal system

would be nice so it could be hacked to be

thoroughlly compatible with WinVista.

WIFI compatible to stream all PSP media

through the PS3 onto a monitor, no need

for cables.

And last but not least, Bluetooth capible

so you can use Bluetooth Keyboard and

Mouse.

And if you really want to get freaky like me,

Projection onto a wall and bluetooth

laser keyboard.

I'd strap it to my arm with the quickness

like in Final Fantasy the movie only dif is

that keyboard was pressure sensitive

holograph and not laser but for right now

thats what you could use. :)

Call me a dreamers but technology can never

keep up with what I dream about and expect

out of our industry.

Reply

# Addition of other thoughts.Guest 2007-01-18 17:18
The laser keyboard could be built into the system

though but you'd still want bluetooth capabilitys.

Imagine playing the system I just painted a

picture of for you, What would you like on your

PSP or to add to my idea?

Sorry Emre, but that concept is really quite crap.

Too chunky, blocky and bricky in my opinion.

The Sony of late have been much better with Aesthetics of their products. Hypothetically if this was really the new PSP, this would really be quite a step back. I'd rather a gameboy (the original) over this. Or atari lynx, game gear. etc.

This is just horrible!!

If you watch the video documentaries by Alex Jones you will see that Bush knew 100 percent that 9/11 was going to happen. A matter of fact we (AMERICA) released documents stating that in 1985 we planned to hijack our own planes and fly them into our own buildings in the hopes of blaming a neutral country and to start a war. That is also the same year our government patented a remote to control jetliners from the ground. Their excuse was to rig an airplane with cameras to test a crash to see what happened to people inside. Good cover story. Too bad for them both ideas came out one after another. Also the supposed "HIJACKERS" of 911 are still alive and never were on the flights. The BBC OR British Broadcasting company has interviewed these supposed Hijackers, thought to be dead by the U.S. and as of last year they are still on the FBI's most wanted list. Kinda hard to arest a dead guy huh? And Bush and Kerry, both from the same Family (BLOOD COUSINS) lOOK it up. And both in the same CULT at Bohemian Grove once a year. In July our CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT flies to Bohemian Grove along with many other famous rich *****s to sacrafice a "black child" to a demon god in the hopes that this demon god will bless their yearly income. Read about it. Or watch the tapes and see it with your own eyes.....AMERICANS ARE BLIIIIND. GOD...I LOVE AMERICA!!!!!!

Is just me, or do most these mock ups make the system look less playable? Nevermind the dual analogs so many wish upon a star for, look at the dpad and buttons! There is no way you could play anything beyond tetris on that thing! Those buttons are horrible and it looks like something id expect from a flea market psp, not an improvement. My only complaint about mine ( and i do love my psp) is that literally the gameboy has a more responsive dpad and even modded mine doesnt meet my true satisfaction. I be surprised if anyone out there actually needed a cell phone or camera feature as id wager your already have a cell phone with that feature (not to mention what provider plans, GSM, sim chips and all that). There is no need to reinvent the car here so to speak, no point in making a car that can fly or swim if it cant drive any better when boats and planes do a better job of that anyway.

hey wicked insider, thats a pretty cool idea except for the fact that VGA is the term used for describing a camera that gives a still photo resolution of 640x 480 not the 6 MP that you say.

its either 6MP or VGA.

to be quite honest i do not see a reason for the hypothetical camera to be any larger that 2MP as this will be plentiful for anyone with a 19" or less monitor let alone the screen itself.

but other than that, i'd say you hit pretty much everything there. gg

oh now lets not forget the loss of the whole UMD thing, that was the major downfall of the PSP, too expensive to produce and sony hold the rights to be the sole providers of the platform. it simply uses too much power and it too fragile. my switching to putting the games on memory stick they could do a hell of a lot better on the market.

9/11 is like religion. People prefer to believe in the legend of Osama Bin-Laden than face the truth.

But about the buildings - each floor collapsing would become more load that would be heavier and would make it possible for the next floor to collapse. I can't imagine how it would NOT fall at that speed.
