With Star Ocean: The Second Story's ten-year anniversary coming up, Square Enix is slowly but surely turning up the hype machine for the April 2 release of the game's PSP incarnation, Star Ocean: The Second Evolution.

We've seen quite a few remakes before, so you pretty much know the drill: new content including new playable characters and shiny new graphics. There's even a big helping of new fully voiced dialogue.

Fans of the original game won't feel out of place when they play Star Ocean: The Second Evolution, though, as it will of course include the memorable characters from the original. That's what we have for you today: a look at two of the original characters, Opera Vectra and Ernest Raviede. Check out the screenshots below.

I hope to get this

I wish the company behind it didn't change the art style so drastically, I mean Rena looks like a clueless 13-year old and Ernest doesn't have that mature scientist look to him...ah well, Star Ocean, and I'll leave it at that

Odd thing is that while Rena may look that way, her voice sample on the site certainly makes her sound more mature than that.
