It looks like Sony Ericsson has already pinned down the release date of SE Zeus Z1, aka the Sony Ericsson Playstation Phone. Tech site ITProPortal has claimed a source close to the company has confirmed that the long rumored phone will be launched in March of next year. This means that device will probably make an appearance at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February and at Cebit 2011 in Germany in the first week of March next year.

The report also suggest that Sony Ericsson wants to label the Z1 as "the Playstation Phone rather than the PSP phone." As rumored before, the device will run on the newly-announced Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, and is likely to have 512MB RAM, 8GB microSD card, an ARM processor and a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen.

"Bear in mind that Neocore is kind a flawed benchmark.

Tegra 2 also scores low on Neocore, but it kicks butt on actual games like Quake 3."

The reason is that "Neocore" is kinda old. It uses OpenGL 1.1

For OpenGL 2.0 GPU, It would be better to use "Nenamark ".

I'm not sure what kind of GPU core would be in that "SE gaming phone" (- I'm not calling it "PSPhone" anymore cause it isn't-)

How buttkick are we talking?

Compare to existing phones:
Galaxy S devices (with aftermarket ROMs, but) post somewhere around 55 on Neocore and 50 on Nenacore.

And I'd be impressed if someone could show me something that relied more or less solely and entirely on instructions optimized in OpenGL ES 2.0's favor.

im happy with 24.4 frames, cant really see more than that, release it now dammit, i want a more capable psp dammit, the 300 things mine does now isint enough

My MT4G gets 57 on that benchmark without maxing the cpu. I was going to get this as a replacement, but it's got to at least match the specs.

Kinda funny that alot shittier phone ZTE Blade, with 600mhz processor gives you more FPS.. I just did 40fps with custom rom.
