A blog is claiming that a Sony rep came and told her some very juicy specifics about the recently revealed NGP from Sony. Juiciest of all should be the claim that it will have a remote play feature.

ngp_shot3 Among the tidbits supposedly shared with her by the Sony rep are the following:

Dual thumb-stick controls
You can use it as a controller for your PS3
If you are connected to Wi-Fi anywhere in the world and your PS3 is on standby at home, you can play the game in your PS3 on your NGP without the disk

The PSP has had remote play for many years and its extremely limited so how will this be any good?

It's another good idea stupidly ruined by $ony.
If you jailbreak or run CFW on your PS3 you can unlock all games so Remote Play will work.
I don't know why they don't have it unlocked for every game anyway?

with a new psp = two thumbsticks and pretty much every ps3 game needs it to work properly.

Sounds like Sony is just planning to roll out another Playstation+ feature if you ask me. I am still waiting for full remote play capability with my PSP 1001, Sony.

It's not rumoured, it's fact, has anyone actually watched the videos? As they are going through the menu system the option is right there for REMOTE PLAY, it goes without saying and doesn't need to be confirmed!

well with the NGP's Wireless N i dont see this as too farfetch'd an idea. in fact that would be pretty awesome. they should have done that with the original PSP or at least the Go (but then again i have CFW which means i already have my games edited to play via remote play)

Hd starts from 720p and screen is 544,thats not even pal SD (576 lines).
Anyway i hope it has antialiasing and USB port can be used to video output.I hope it has video input too(for video monitoring).
I wonder if ps3 gamepad would work connected to this USB.

its "960 x 544" so 960 is in the hd guildline.

ITs not HD,but higher res than most hi res displays available on the market.
16:9 HD is 1280x720 and 1920x1080,then its 1024x576 for SD 4:3 and 640x480 in USA/ntsc countries.
So 960x544 is nice res but its not HD yet.

If they manage to do it right this time, and allow ALL games to be played via remote play, then they'll definitely have me sold on this.

What is that thing between the square and triangle buttons? Its not the power button because thats on the top left side of the console. Its obviously not the speakers for simple reasons. Is it the camera? and if so its a weird spot to put it... and also if it is, no flash light?

Oh, and if it is complete remote play, then can a friend connect their NGP to yours and play your PS3 game on local play? That would be awesome, but very unlikely.
