Rumor: Gran Turismo 4 Mobile on the PSP pushed back to 2008? - Image 1

A lot of people have been waiting for Polyphony Digital and Sony Computer Entertainment's Gran Turismo 4 Mobile on the PSP. Yes, there are great racing games like Burnout Dominator, but many gamers have been demanding more racing games to sate their need for speed. Unfortunately, GT4 Mobile may not be out until next year.

EBGames, one of the leading distributors of video games in the US, has listed the game's pre-release copies to ship only on January 1 of next year. It's been said that other sites such as Amazon UK have listed the game for a later date, like March 30. This leads to a little confusion considering other sites such as Yahoo shopping and others have set the game for this year (or maybe they just haven't updated their site yet).

That said we have no other choice but to wait for Sony's official statement on when this game will be announced. However, considering the issues they are dealing with now, their response may come later rather than sooner. Be sure to keep checking back here for more updates in Gran Turismo 4 Mobile for the PSP.

Thanks to Networkgamer for the heads-up on this one.

» Woo

It's been cancelled!

There's no viable reason for them to make it, and we haven't heard anything from them in years.

It's

been

canned!

» QJ get your info right for once on this

Polyphony has already said work on this game will not resume until they finish making GT 5 for the PS3. They are using all of their team to create GT 5 that is why they won't continue working on GT for PSP until GT 5 is finished. Where has QJ been in all this? I've read this countless times in articles from magazines and gaming sites. This one article from QJ needs to be re-edited.

» ..

I'm guessing they del;ayed it for a somewhat simultaneous release with gt5 and interconnectabi lity with that game.

» VAPORWARE1

this is obviously vaporware

it will be pushed back and back 'supposedly' until it is cancelled

by silentkilr - 2007-06-10 07:45
» omfg!!!

the only time we hear about this game is that its getting pushed back! lmao i mean im not even like a huge GT fan, its a good game just i like faster racers. But give me abreak! wasnt this like slated for psps release?? this is pathetic, they need to either come clean and cancle it or actually show some proof of production. lmao

» Lookin' at EB/Gamestop dates!

FFS! Unless there is a solid date out from the company, they just put things 6 months out. Then if it doesn't look like it will show up, they push it out another six months before the date comes up. IT'S COMPLETELY ARBITRARY, and EB/GS corporate will confirm this.

» .... were the writers at qj born yesterday?

not to be rude, because it's really not that big a deal, but who in their right mind is actually holding their breath waiting for GT4? I remember when it was rumored to be a "launch title" for the psp. It was supposed to be the system's flagship title. ITS NOT REAL. ITS NEVER COMING.... good lord just move on, there are plenty of other good games on the psp to be excited for. ~cough~ CHAINS OF OLYMPUS ~cough~

» o well

At least thanks to DAX I can play Gran Turismo 2...

» It's an EB/Gamestop Pre-order scam

As slong as a firm cancellation is never announced they can legally continue taking pre-orders for the game, thaey take that make and make interest on it, all the while we get notthing for years and years. Stop being such gullible saps and admit to yourselves that this game was a ploy to sell PSP's early on and we were all tricked

» me too

I feel your pain I too was duped by sony

as far as gt5 I read an article 1 or 2 yrs

which means november 09 may 2010

by Mister Common Sense - 2007-06-11 00:17
» keep dreaming

Duke Nukem Forever will come out before this game does.

Gran Turismo 5 will be delayed another 2 years while they have to add improvments after seeing the awesome Forza 2 on the 360. Really, how is Gran Turismo going to top that? It's not.

by wow - 2007-06-11 01:08
» why oh why

the only really reson i brought a psp way back coz i heard gran turismo mobile would b on it ***** i think i mite buy a xb360 instead of ps3 after all! ***** Y O U S O N Y

If it dosent appear at this years e3 or tgs than we can all confirm it canned.

by John-Jack - 2007-06-11 13:29
» Oh aye!

Also noting, does anyone remember how it was going to be INCLUDED with every PSP before June 2006?

Also that it was going to be the first PSP game to run at 333mhz because it was SO good.

...Where is it? Polyphony, can we SEE THIS GAME? I was under the impression that I would have already owned this game for 8 months now.
