Ok guys, first off, a little warning. With so many many fake news surrounding the homebrew scene lately, this one should be taken with a grain of salt, but apparently, a Japanese homebrew developer named MadDaemon is developing a new custom firmware to bypass the latest PSP firmware 6.20.

According to the dev, the new firmware is still in early stage of development and currently has some bugs on some homebrews and PSX games. Expect CFW 6.20 Mad-001 to be released on February 14 at 16:00 Japanese time. Real or not? Stay tuned.

Why is everyone always so ready and willing to declare ANYTHING a fake and subsequently bash the author?

Why can't someone just wait for the 'release' (if it actually happens), test it out, then make a judgement. After all, as long as you have a Flashable PSP, having a Pandora will make all your ills go away if it bricks your stuff.

This hostile nature of the members of the so-called 'community' is what drives potential and existing devs away. Then they would whine and moan when there's no development going on (therefore blocking access to new stuff).

Incidentally, the reason some (or all) homebrew isn't working in his CFW is because although he may have imported ISO loading or stuff like that, the CFW's NIDs Resolver isn't complete or is buggy.

It's a simple hack, almost every dark-alex CFW had the option to switch the buttons. I have a japanese white PSP phat and have had my buttons "American style" since the first version that allowed it. If this guy really did make a cfw it'd be trivial to put that hack on. Or he could just have an American psp with the language set to Japanese. Whatever the case, we'll find out soon enough.

The 3000 and GO will never have anything more than a HEN/Virtual CFW guys, no flash writing. altough i know of a group of people on lan.st trying to look at the preIPL. who knows what they will find.

As for the 6.20 cfw, most likely fake. to the extent of my knowlage, 6.20 prx's have barely even been looked at. i know some have been decrypted though.

They're not rushing out and putting up videos where they talk about how awesome they are. They're opening a line of communication and admitting to things that sound like plausible development problems, like homebrew or ISOs not working completely (as opposed to official features not working or missing). It's fake alright, I didn't have any hopes for it to be a real cfw.

I wish fakers would give up, because people believe in them and then, they become sad and disappointed, maybe some even cry (LOL! Anyone does?).

So, it's like this, CFW 5.50 GEN is the maximum there is available and for OFW there's 6.20 which is pretty good, in case you actually buy the games and what to play them online.

2010 isn't the best year for PSP games, I played the demo Socom 3 and the controlls sucked, ew..

At least, MGS PW, Kingdom Heart BbS and Fat Princess will be great titles! Oh, man, if only Street Fighter 4 would come to PSP too, not only for iPhone.

no one will make cfw cause its not needed. all you need to do is find the keys from your game and put then into yoshiros decrypter. then make "cfw any" game, easy peasy. done and done. for those who cant- just search google for your cfw compatable game iso/cso ... good luck you
