*Rumor* Asphalt: Urban GT 2 cancelled? |

Asphalt: Urban GT 2 hasn't exactly been the most talked about or anticipated PSP game ever. But still, judging by the screenshots we have of the PSP version of the game it looks pretty good, and it is due to be released in March 2007. The DS and Nokia N-Gage versions have been out for quite a while and were pretty successful for Ubisoft. However, today QJ has caught wind of rumors that the PSP version of the game has been cancelled.Maybe Ubisoft thought it was going to be easy to port to the PSP and then ran into trouble. Maybe there wasn't a big enough fanbase for the game. But whatever the reason, it sounds like there is a fair chance that it has been cancelled. We can't go into details on this just yet but we have contacted Ubisoft and are awaiting a response.
Don't jump to any conclusions just yet though, as we will update this post when we get a response from th big guys at Ubisoft. And please bear in mind that this is Friday so we might have to wait until Monday or even later for a response.

Off topic but GT Mobile will also never come out...even if polyphony was "perfecting" the game for two years since the original trailer there has been no new screen shots...just a marketing ploy by sony to sell psp's at launch. All the ppl that think this game is coming out b/c polyphony always delay their games are retards (or that there waiting for the psp to get a upgrade better battery and 333mhz before releasing gt mobile, gt4 was long released on ps4 so there will be not as much hype or interest)

It's simple - they cancelled Asphalt 2 because there is not enough base of psp users who would buy the game. They cannot be sure of money the would get from the asphalt2. DA softs and hacks are brilliant, but this is one of the main reasons that PSP is slowly dying. Yeah, it's true - even major movie companies cancelled their support for UMD movies. Because of terrible sales. Remember N-Gage? Cracks etc. and huge price killed this system. Remember Dreamcast? Utopia bootloader and lack of support (who would program console that is easily cracked?) Remember PSP ...... ? Asphalt2? If you do not know what's going on, it's ALWAYS about money.

Dr. ISO, you are part of the reason why companies don't make games anymore for the psp. This could possibly lead to the death of psp. Just go buy games and quit using virus infected torrents!
