Here's something to spice up your day. We don't know if it's a boo-boo or a premature announcement, but retail store EB Games seems to have listed Riviera: The Promised Land for release here in North America courtesy of Atlus USA. Of course we don't have to remind you how great Riviera was and how the game always never finds its way here.

According to EB Games' listing, The Promised Land will be available this coming April 9 for US$ 39.99. Needless to say, the new version will have enhanced soundtrack and music as well as in-battle graphics. We also heard that it comes with full voice acting, 48 new CGs, and a higher resolution artwork.

Remember, this is just from EB Games. We heard that GameStop also had the game up listed, but unfortunately, we can't find the link (did they remove it or something?). Anyway, we will update you as more concrete details about this surface.

Riviera: The Promised Land
is a role playing game originally designed by Sting Entertainment for the WonderSwan.

Don't get your hopes high...

...this game is mediocre at best. PSP is not GBA, and it basically stayed a GBA game with higher resolution cutscenes and better sound. Nothing special, really. I wrote about it on my blog: http://bartsnews.blogspot.com/2006/11/riviera-psp-impresisons.html

It is up on gamespot.com for the same release day, so if that makes a difference? http://www.gamespot.com/psp/rpg/rivierayakusokunochi/index.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs

I played the GBA version

It was better than Disgaea imo. Better soundtracks and art sound nice. Also, the artist is the same one as Disgaea iirc.
