Don't you ever feel like the PSP is starting to become like a museum of sorts? There's Capcom Classics Collection Remix, then the Sega Genesis Collection... Now, EA Replay. Whoa, whoa. Who said we're complaining? "Museum" as it may be like, a big chunk of our childhood was spent on some of these games. And boy... wouldn't we want to relive the past?

Electronic Arts is bringing back 14 of its games from the Sega Genesis system and the SNES to your handheld, all in one neatly packed UMD. Of course, you can't just spackle in these 2D games into the PSP without adding anything new, right? Apparently, you'd be able to unlock some artworks like whoa. They're also going to include an ad hoc system to play games like Mutant League Football wirelessly with your friends.

There's also a whole slew of (free) homebrew emulators (e.g. Daedalus or ScummVM) that are continuously getting jumped up in the QJ blogs, but it's also great to see commercial releases of the classics. So we should give everyone - commercial developer or homebrewer - a round of applause for keeping our childhood alive.

argh

I refuse to buy this crap. If I'm going to buy a retro compilation, there need to be the following things: 1. GOOD games, at least in the majority. The selection here is, admittedly, rather lackluster. The only ones that jump out at me are BOB, Virtual Pinball, and the Road Rash games. 2. Good port quality. Wing Commander and Ultima VII were magnificent games, but only the PC versions. The SNES versions (which are included here, presumably) had god-awful interfaces and were inferior to the PC versions for the most part (especially Ultima). 3. Extras, extras, extras. If there's nothing but the games and a fancy menu interface, then it's hardly worth shelling out the dough.

CRAP

I think the guy that is posting news about this crappy compilation is a guy hired by EA to promote this worthless piece of CRAP PLease understand: A.Its a Crappy game collection B. The frame rate on those games was poor and they ported it like that C. Most people already owned that games and they can have ROMS legally D. I can play DGEN CRAP CRAP CRAP that's all we get We want NEW games and if they want to give me ports, at least pot some PS2 games like "WAR OF THE MONSTERS!"
