God of War: Ghost of Sparta developer Ready At Dawn said that the upcoming PSP title will push the PSP to its breaking point, as they'd tried to re-create the best possible God of War experience for the handled. According to Ready At Dawn's co-founder Ru Weerasuriya, the development team made sure that the latest God of War PSP title will be as good as it's console counterpart, "pretty much by brining the PSP to a breaking point," he said.

"It was about trying to push things on the PSP that it wasn't necessarily designed for, trying to exploit every single possible avenue the PSP provided for us."

Weerasuriya went on to add that latest PSP Kratos uses the same Kratos model as those found in the PS2 title, with full screen effects, depth of field, bloom and weather.

"A lot of things we've done you'd expect on PS2 or PS3. In fact, when we developed this game we did it as a God of War game, not a PSP game, it put us in a mind frame to make it look good. We've looked in every single nook and cranny inside the PSP and tried to figure out what we can take out of it and at this point I think we've leveraged 100% of the power of the PSP." promises Weerasuriya.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta launches today, exclusively for the PSP.

i played the leaked iso.. btw, dont make it a cso, or else it lags SOOO much in the cutscenes and... it really does push the psp to it's limits... memorycard access indicator is flashing 98% of the game time.

Finally some people thought to make a game that fully uses teh psp, if not even OVER power the psp.

Maybe they got SONY to let them clock the CPU up to 333MHz instead of the usual 222MHz

It's amazing how the game isn't even out yet people have already beaten. What's even more amazing is how we got it for free.

This pretty much confirms a PSP2, with the PSP being maxed out like that, they need a new console, but not until the games currently being made are out.
