Whew! They say seeing is believing, so here you are, six of the very first screens available for the portable version of Ubisoft's Rainbow Six: Vegas. The game is set to follow the main events of its console brethren, but naturally the PSP version will feature a certain amount of exclusive content.
And just a reminder of what you can expect in terms of gameplay, Ubisoft has pledged the following:
- Tag-Team Gameplay : In single player mode you're able to play as both field operative and sniper.
- Tactical Observation : You basically have the ability to use high tech equipment like snake cams to check out a room, strategically plan out assaults before taking terrorists down.
- Take Cover : You can switch to third person view while taking cover. This allows you to examine the situation to before you make your next move.
- Tailored Control System : controls are specifically designed to fit the PSP.
- Unlockable Content : Play good, get rewarded. A standard in any game looking for replay value.
- Terrorist Hunt Mode : This mode allows you to hone your skills. The gameplay in this mode is simple. Enter single-player maps and hunt down spawning terrorists one at a time.
- Multiplayer : Allows you and five of your buddies to fight together via wireless (Ad- Hoc) or online play (Infrastructure) in Survival and Team Survival multiplayer modes.

Wow, that really looks great. If they can get the controls down well it could very well be the next great game, especailly for all those salavting for a multiplayer (infrastructure ).
they are coming out with alot of great shooters... I just don't know which to get first... socom FTB2, MoH Heroes, or this...

Wow that looks really amazing for a psp game, I think it looks better than Syphon Filter. Hope it has ragdoll.

i cant decide between Rainbow Six Vegas, Socom FTB2, MOH Heroes, or Vice City Stories.
Some of the lighting and other effects actually look better than the PC's RavenShield in 2003.
I'm not convinced though, on 2 counts:
1) The lack of aliasing in the screenshots mean that at the time of the press screenshots being made the game was being developed on an over-powered development kit. Which means we're likely to see a lot of jaggies in the final version, just as with every other 3D rendered game (and 2D such as Loco Roco) we've seen on the PSP . And probably less detailed textures, lighting, particle effects etc too.
2) The gameplay. Backs against the wall? That hasn't been the Rainbow Six philosophy ever. I swear this series has sold out more than U2.
i was scrolling down the page, saw the screens an wondered why they were coverin a PS2 game on pspupdates. they look as good as ps2 games. this looks sick as hell.
They look like PS2 gfx. They better look that good on my PSP. Im gonna "buy" all these games from the seas on which I sail...
fps games suck on the psp, this is going to be junk. and yeah those shots are seriously misleading...
Want to make this clear when it comes to shooters, NOTHING BEATS SOCOM!!!!!!!! Best online shooter on da face of the planet !! Forget countersrike and that wack view !

i don't think this is actual gameplay the graphics top pretty much of everything on Ps2
They must be joking another shooter for the PSP... we all know it won't work with the PSP's flawed design. Just give us games that actualy work like rpg's or something.

The screens look amazing on the PSP! I just hope Ubisoft won't mess this up like PoP and SC... but i have a feeling this game turn out to be awesome
why do people say shooters dont work on psp? i can get lots of headshots on syphon filter using the analog nub to aim. you people are afraid of change. if you dont want to play a FPS on psp then why did you click on the article?

this is like socom but looks way better. better graphics, you can actually see the gun in first person and the crosshairs look cooler when sniping. hopfully the online play will be fun! Oh yeah if you want to play with me on socom my screen name is 1-800-Destroyer. :)
