PSP WiFi Robot Now with Video Feed

Ó

A few months back (last May, to be specific), we posted an article about Netoo's PSP-controlled robot. A lot of you guys gave positive feedback on that, not to mention Jumped it waaaaay up. Well, we know what you guys want to see, and we're giving you more of it. Because just a few days ago, the PSP/WiFi Controller has been upgraded. Well, not upgraded by the same person, but upgraded nonetheless.

The upgrade by wifibot is interesting, to say the least. He installed a camera, and while being able to control the robot, has the video feedback streamed into his PSP. Take a look:

The video feed isn't really fast since it seems to be lagging a lot. But hey, when you look into the future, it poses an unsettling impact on society. In other words, it's got "spy cam" written all over it. But that's if you're thinking dastardly pranks on your neighbors. Well, whatever floats your bot boat.

Psp is onley good for this *****ty homebrew crap it dousent even have good games. Im ashamed of sony for not suporting the psp. If you need proof just look at ds's sells compared to psps sells. Good games are what matter thus making psp a useless peice of garbage for any gamer

I personaly love the homebrew on the psp, this homebrew and many others bring new functions to your psp and then some. This shows that the wifi controller can be used for more than just windows. With a lil tweaking you can do that to any rc car. The homebrew games and other apps fill in the little gaps i have inbetween games or when i need somthing different. Third party developers for a short while now have been pulling out better and better games now, especially since the porting phase has dimished. Remember the original game boy? Black and white NES games were ported to it left and right till it gained enough user base. Now with it not only being the leader of the handheld 'war' unchallenged since the days of gamegear. The psp is doing damn well, espeically if you count each gameboy revision as seperate. Nintendo has been riding on thier game boy is 'cool' for kids fad that has boiled down to a small simmer now since pokemon red and blue, but still manage to get handheld gamers to get the next revision cause of obvious flaws in the previous. Remember the original GB? huge and green, Gameboy pocket? Small and clear monotone. Gameboy color? Now has color and slightly bigger resolution. Gameboy advance, its frist real update that looked like a badge and crippled by no back light. Game Boy SP backlight with a sleak clambshell (always found the r button on the last two to die easy) Gameboy DS, total revision, back to the Oringinal GB size, ugly, touchscreens werent to accuate. GBDS lite sleak again, brighter backlight, smaller. As you see there are 7 gameboys you could have boughten, 8 with the super gameboy accesory for the snes. 8 Gamboys and only two real upgrades, to 32bit 2d and to 3d with touchpad. The good games for it besides rehashes of the proven few and pokemon craze. A small hand full on each one. Though they have increased from year to year. It wasnt till pokemon that real good games came out for the gameboy. The psp is post gba with its games right now, a few good here and there quickly coming up to nintendo's handfull or craze, with its variaty, homebrew, and good games.

That is obviously a fake. The only amazing thing is that i am the first who realized it. The PSP shows a video of the environment while somebody different controls the robot with a common remote control. You can see it clearly when the robot moves forward and backward and on the screen you can see swaying instead of moving in that direction.

ffaldkja, I could not have said it better myself. Good to see someone else who remembers.

I only wish I had enough time/knowledge to try amazing applications like this.

I agree with #5. The PSP is a device with so much potential, Sony could appeal to almost everyone by supporting the homebrew scene. There will always be mod-chips, so fighting the pirates is a lost cause. Not everyone uses them.

# You fanboys need to get a lifeGuest 2006-09-07 07:53
Sony is never going to support homebrew or any kind of that. Homebrew also leads to more exploits if more people come in the scene due to publication, u guys need to think more...

the psp games are all garbage, loco roco is garbage and puzzle like, lumines is crapy puzzle game, socom suks on psp wat da hell with auto aim. and everything else suks, oh and gta has been played out since gta III. so you guys are all in denial. oh an homebrew is cool and all but gets boring really fast (i respect the homebrew scene) but with all this firmware ***** , it seems sony only want their gay handheld wanna bee of a console to sell gay games.

If you don't like the games then...A) dont get a psp and B) Dont b!tch about it

and hellguard....If you call someone a fanboy, then you can't actually take their comment seriously and try to disprove it. Besides, the only people here are optimistic PSP owners not fanboys.
