PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1

The PSP blog saw a nice healthy balance of hardware and software news this week. PSP owners have been clamoring for a new GTA game for a long time now. This week they finally got their wish. Those holding out for a lower price point for the PSP Go, however... well, I'll just advise you not to hold your breath for it as Sony is showing no sign of backing down on this one. At least the launch titles are looking pretty good, along with the possibility of indie apps and maybe games.

The Hardware:
  • Sony Ericsson: New Satio phone can play "PlayStation games". Link
  • Rumor: Sony developing cellphone-videogame hybrid device. Link
  • PSP Go:
    • Andrew House in the house: why the PSP Go costs that much. Link
    • Limited Edition Pac-Man scarf costs more than PSP Go. Link
    • Sony: "Non-gaming apps" welcome on PSP Go. Link
    • Make room for more: PSP Go DL titles to average 600-800MB. Link
    • Another look at the PSP Go - controller connectivity, in-game XMB. Link
    • PSP No? Independent UK retailers not yet stocking PSP Go. Link
The Games:
  • Finally, the PSP gets a new GTA; Chinatown Wars PSP announced. Link
  • Famitsu details bonus content for Tales of Vesperia PS3, Tales of VS. Link
  • Curve bringing Explodemon! PSN game to PSP. Link
  • Evangelion: Jo is first anti-CFW PSP game, more to come? Link
  • Japan getting Dynasty Warriors 6 PSP port. Link
  • Idea Factory to announce Spectral Force Legacy for PSP in Japanese mags next month. Link
  • Gran Turismo PSP looking gorgeous in new screenshots. Link
  • Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days official site now live. Link
  • Did you know: Dissidia: Final Fantasy was originally for the PS2. Link
  • Monster Hunter Freedom Unite:
    • Sony announces more Monster Hunter Freedom Unite bundles... in Japan. Link
    • Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite contest: create a monster, win stuff. Link
    • Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: The QJ.NET Review. Link

And that's it gang. Once again, another fun-filled week on the QJ.NET PSP blog. Catch you again next time.

Lol, real exciting QJ. Nw GTA? More like old and crappy GTA being ported to new console. I originally said before the game even came out for DS that it would suck and everyone would hate it but did *****star listen? Nope, they made it and released it and it sold so poorly they have to put it on another console now. I WANT GTA SA STORIES NOT SOME STUPID 2D CRAP.

» wah

Now I hope you actually played the game and came to a safe conclusion that it sucks beyond the fact that it's "2d".

Otherwise you just sound like an *****.

» actually it is 3D

not to fond of the top down view though, so i havent bothered buying it.

rest of your post i agree with, bring on SAS already.

its not impossible, everyone has a memstick nowadays.

just release on two UMD's.

first one installs to memstick, second UMD is play disc, put a note on the box "a memstick with at least 2GB free is required to play this game"

or package a memstick with the game.

Have you played it?

The game IS in fact 3d, theres even been renders of parts of the map on the net.

All gta games have been 3d (excluding gta advance)

» And GTA 1 and GTA 2 were 2D.

Damn there's nothing worse than a stupid misinformed gamer who feels entitled to whatever their simple minds can dream up (whether it exists or not).

GTA: Chinatown Wars is a great game and anyone crying that it isn't hasn't played it. It will be great on the PSP as well.

Sure the sales are very lackluster with the game, but put a handgun in the baby section at Toys R US and see how many sell. Probably not that many. The DS is not an adult system and makes no claim to be. Chinatown Wars was a solid test for M rated games on the DS market and it shows that the DS just isn't the place for those games. GTA is a juggernaut when it comes to sales and there was hardly a better game to test the waters with than a GTA. So laugh up douchebag, it only means that there probably won't be many future M rated games for DS.

» lmao

I hope by stupid misinformed gamer you were talking about Serosis.

Because the Gta 1 + 2 maps are actually 3d.

» NEW GTA? Smoke another phat line!

NEW?!! what the ***** are you posters smoking? it's a *****ty upgraded port of never the less another crappy DS game, god Rockstar, don't you *****ing listen?! for YEARS people have been begging for GTA San Andreas Stories, just complete the damn trilogy already!! the fact is, to have 2 GTA's pull directly from 3 GTA's for PS2, and not finish the 3rd, shows that R* are getting lazy, and personally, I hope that the PSP Sales of GTA Chinatown wars are even WORSE than DS's sales just so Rockstar wake the ***** up and smell their own bad breath.
