PSP Weekend Warrior: of "instant 3D" and proper twin analog timing |
Ó

A rather vocal portion of the PSP userbase has been calling for an addition analog nu to be added to the Sony handheld for years now. The conspicuous lack of a second nub on the new PSP Go has since reignited the call, but this week we got what I believe is a rather reasonable answer from Sony: It's just not the right time. Since Sony's shooting for a ten-year lifespan for their consoles, we can probably expect a dual analog PSP in, say, 2015. If the world doesn't decide to keel over and die in 2012, of course.
That's the only official hardware news we heard all week, but there were also a few unofficial ones that made waves. There's the new 3D screen for the PSP that promises "instant 3D" even for games that were never coded to be in 3D. All I'm seeing here is something that'll give me a headache. There was also a rather lengthy list supposedly detailing the European release dates for upcoming PSP (and PS3) games. The authenticity of that list is still up in the air, but the release date stamped on Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny is another thing entirely. That one's official.
Check all of those out below in the PSP Weekend Warrior news recap.
