PSP Weekend Warrior: of clouds, guides, and the return of Jak and Daxter |
Ó

Developer support for the PlayStation Portable continued to grow this past week, what with some new announcements regarding new titles for the Sony handheld and updates on the games we already know are coming.
Not everything's been apples and rainbows though: rumors about a PSP port of the Ghostbusters video game was flat out debunked by Atari. We also got teased with more PSP support that we won't ever get to see unless we move to Japan. Still, the PSP boat's in full sail and nothing's gonna stop it from reaching port. Yeah, weak analogy, I know.
But enough chitchat. Let's get this thing rolling!
GENERAL NEWS:
- Or as I like to call it, "This week in John Koller":
- Navi 3 update brings 3D maps and MP3 support to GPS Maplus guidemap. Shame that it's Japan-only. Link.
- The FFVII 10th Anniversary Ultimania guide, recently released Crisis Core: FF7, is getting an update to reflect new info released for the FF7 universe. Thank god it's not another FF7 remake rumor. Link.
- Sony has registered the name "PS Cloud." We assume that the "PS" here stands for PlayStation, and the "Cloud" refers to a networked grid. Link.
- There's no voiceover work, but the US debut trailer for Dissidia: Final Fantasy still looks crazy awesome. Link.
- Tales of VS - Namco Bandai's answer to Dissidia - is coming to the PSP. Link.
- Quick rollercoaster ride for Ghostbuster fans:
- An ESRB rating shows that Ghostbusters: The Videogame is also coming to the PSP. Link.
- Problem is, Atari said it isn't. Link.
- Dynamic duo Jak and Daxter really are coming back, and now it's 100% confirmed. Link.
- A GameStop listing for Rock Band: Unplugged has revealed a partial list of playable tracks that'll come packaged with the game. Link.
- Virtually nothing is known JAW's "Project V" except for three things: it's a first-party PSN game, it's going to be revealed at this year's E3, and it's going to hit both the PS3 and PSP. Link.
