Seen those weird PSP commercials lately? One commercial has two squirrels talking about random PSP games but the weird stuff is what actually comes out of their mouth. One of our users, Gunman, has informed us that the comic site VG Cats has posted a parody of that particular commercial as their newest comic. So be sure to give your opinion on their take of those strange squirrel and dust ball commercials.

I went to highschool with Scott (the author of VG Cats).

Very cool guy, and nice to see he's getting recognition for his work.

I actually went through most of his comics, and got the impression that he more than often jokes about games he likes. You'll find references to tons of games, from Halo to MGS, and even Katamari Damaci. Certainly no fanboy.

Totally ruins the punchline with self-censorship though.

ok sure as much as i love the psp and want to support sony, yea those commercials suck.

But really guys, this comic isn't that funny or clever. I know one tactic of comedians is to cleverly depict obvious truths. But what's said in that comic is so insanely obvious that it's really impossibly to cleverly depict it. Something like those commercials doesn't require a satirical comic. It ridicules itself just fine. Anyone going out of their way to make a comic about it is just being redundant. You want to see funny comics? His name is Jim Davis, author or Garfield. You want satire of current events? His name is John Stewart, he's on the Daily Show. (And to a lesser degree, there's Steven Colbert on the Colbert Report)

why would anyone want to read about a fat as hell cat that cant do *****? serisously all he does is *****ing sit around all day, squash spiders, is mean to his owner, and still thinks he deserves some *****ing respect.

and as for John Stewart and Steven Colbert they can go suck my ***** at comedy central cuz as far as I remember politics were NOT supposed to be funny.

whoa i dunno who shoved that beetle up your @$$ but im gonna have to agree with 29. First off, it's not about reading ABOUT a fat cat. Garfield wasn't meant to be informative. Second, if you consider "reading about a fat cat" to be so lame, why in god's name don't you find reading about a coming about two squirrels and a peice of carpet to be lame.

Furthermore, does something have to be intended to be something for it to be it? You said that politics were not supposed to be funny. Well obviously the comercial that this comic is making fun of wasn't supposed to be stupid. I highly doubt that the ones who made it inteded it to reek. That doesn't change the fact that it does.

Same goes for politics. When Bush misreads the lines he's getting fed, it's funny. It's not supposed to be but it is. When the vice president shoots a 78 year old man in the face with bird shot, it's also funny. Again, it's obviously not supposed to be. Get the picture?
