its not as simply as that you could have just ussed m33 or gen firmware as a base?

its not as simple as that you couls have allways ussed an allready patched cfw as a base you know and edited it a bit
the best way to learn is to open a ofw and cfw and compare them and see how they both work differently

The problem with BBS is that it uses the savedata.prx found in 6.XX firmwares, which acts differently than previous ones. A 5.XX based firmware simply CAN'T run BBS due to that. However, if one decrypted the 6.XX savedata.prx, it'd probably get them closer if they got it integrated in with the 5.XX firmware. At least, that's the way I understand it.

Or someone could simply come out with a 6.xx firmware and be done with this "breaks homebrew compatibility" nonsense. Homebrewres would update their projects in due time.

Or we could run a homebrew-mode off the memory stick, similar to the "Test M33" feature from DCv8 or maybe a patch of some sorts that installs a 5.xx kernel addon. That would be frigging sweet.
