The JPCSP Team is back once again in the homebrew scene to release a new version of their PlayStation Portable emulator for PC, written in Java, the JPCSP. The latest update of the brew includes lot's of bug fixes, more code cleanups and various other improvements to further improve the stability of the emulator.

Changelog:

  • Revision 1416: Little improvments
  • Revision 1415: Fix a bug with modelMatrixChanged in videoEngine
  • Revision 1414: Added exportation/importation of breakpoints to the debugger (also performed some aesthetical changes).
  • Revision 1413: Fix in sceAtracSetDataAndGetID: bufferSize is not an address.
  • Revision 1412: Added GEtest application for testing some GE functions (sceGeListSync, sceGeDraw, GE callbacks...)
  • Revision 1411: Use dual-core capabilities to implement the PSP 2-processor architecture: GE is now executing in a separate thread, running in parallel to the Allegrex thread. This is improving the performance and compatibility of Jpcsp. Implemented sceDisplayWaitVblankXXX() and sceDisplayGetFramePerSec(). Re-implemented the GE signal callbacks to use the new interrupt architecture. Improved the compatibility of sceGeListSync() and sceGeDrawSync() using GEtest application on PSP.
  • Revision 1410: sceMpeg: reset Ringbuffer when displaying 2 Mpegs in sequence
  • Revision 1409: Fix in sceAudioSRCOutputBlocking(): block the thread only once.
  • Revision 1408: More robustness in Compiler when trying to compile an invalid address.

And per our previous post, check out this thread for the list compatible games and working homebrews using this emulator.

I still cannot get a SINGLE game to do so much as load. God, switch over to c++ already. I can't think of a single SUCCESSFUL emulator that uses java. Yes, I know they are also working on the c version on the side. That's the problem, however. It's "on the side."
