PSP coder Takka has recently updated his ISO Tool, a handy homebrew app that allows you to decrypt, convert and patch all the latest ISOs, making it compatible with your custom firmwared PSP. Tagged as version 1.91, the latest update includes several improvements and bug fixes.

Changelog (translated):

[NEW] HBL at startup Fixed the error reappears PRX read (FW 5.51 or higher will have to come out)
[NEW] HBL make changes when using the View menu,
[BUG] HBL Fixed a freeze when using at the end (if you return to exit the menu HBL, HOME Back to the case of the XMB)
[BUG] When you start "ms0: / test" was to remove fixed (remains of debugging)
[BUG] EBOOT.OLD fixed conversion was not possible to
[NEW] 5.50GEN-D3/D2 when patched in the farm system with "5.50GEN-pD ~" was to make the show
[NEW] 5.50GEN-D2 system supports plug-ins

I'm using 5.00 M33-6 and I played every single game that required me to update the firmware, first with EBOOT Decrypter, then EDecrypt and now ISO Tool which does everything in under 30 seconds right from the PSP itself.

GEN is still at "GEN-D3" for almost a year now (release date December 15th 2009) and I can honestly say I never really did see a need for the official 5.50 features. So I'm still rocking M33. Mostly for the POPS support (GEN doesn't have any) and the "native" Speed up MS access feature, sort of speak. Sure you can get that on GEN too, but it's more of a hack job if anything.

Anyone can tell me how to use it to patch GOWGOS to work on 5.03 Gen-C .

Just get 5.50 Promethus-2 and it patches automatically. When you play it.

Works on 5.00 M33 (which means it will work with 5.03 MHU as well). Patched with ME631.
