I don't think the DaedlusX64 emulator will be ported on the PS3.

Nothing against the creators, I use DaedalusX64 a lot, but why would you want this ported to the PS3 instead of having a fully functional N64 emulator from the PC ported to the PS3?

same thing... DX64 is pc-->psp ...... so all the psp devs need to do is port pc-->ps3. .... it would be dumb to port a psp homebrew, which is a port of another thing, to the ps3.

Thats what I was about to say.

This is a PC emu ported to PSP.

And I think that a version of this one and probably a few more will be on PS3 real quick now that its cracked.

Its powerful enough to run them no problem.

Anything that ported to the xbox should run on Ps3 no prob IMO.

I'm hoping they figure out a way to get PS2 games up again.
Maybe a port of pcsx2.

8) hopefully us owners of phat classic ps3s won't need an emulator to play oldschool ps2 games.

Yes, Daedalus was a port of the original PC version (writen by Strmnnrmn and others) to the PSP by Strmnnrmn. After he apparently abandoned (or so we thought) the project, we made DX64 as we didn't have access to the original Daedalus site (access to it has been lost over the years) or commit access to the original SVN project. I'm currently reverse merging all of our changes back to the original SVN (Strmn left me in charge of it while he is busy with life, but we still talk occasionally). After Beta 3 is out the door (Coming very soon, think days not weeks and see below), then I finish my current work when I get time (the "Async Bug" which is an audio thread glitch, and the move of the CPU emulation to the ME processor), I plan to make a PS3 port. I would port another more advanced N64 emulator, but I've work a lot with Daedalus and understand it's code better which will make it easier for me. None of the other devs is currently working on a PS3 port AFAIK. It will be several months before that is attempted or anywhere near completion.

BETA 3 INCOMING SOON:
There is currently and art contest going on for the upcoming Beta 3. As compared Beta 2, it's much faster, more stable, more compatible. Even compared to R636 it's faster(several speed-ups have been done in private preparing for it), more stable(several crashes have been fixed), more compatible (nearly every if not every regression in the code has been fixed), and finally a few other minor things have changed (improvements to Auto FS, etc..).

The Beta 3 Teaser is now live!
DX64 Beta 3 Teaser Discussion Thread

Of note are some titles not previously playable (at least not without serious glitches) Kirby 64, Tarzan, Pokemon Stadium 1, Doubutsu no Mori(Animal Crossing), F-Zero X, Conker's Bad Fur Day. Also some titles that already play well, but have had graphical fixes Super Smash Bros.(fixed glitches like shields), Super Mario 64 (Mario's shadow, the star coloring), Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (lots of graphical fixes).

Enjoy,
Kreationz
