Moving away from the usual PSP gamers meet-ups, The PSP Nation organized their own version of a flash mob. A group of PSP owners gathered at the Manhattan Mall and descended upon the New York City MTA subway system for one big PSP gaming session amidst a crowd of unsuspecting commuters, and right in the middle of rush hour too! Other PSP owners who happened to be on the train joined right in. Though they aren't exactly a huge crowd, they certainly played the part of truly hardcore PSP nuts.

This kind of gathering shows the strong presence of the PSP gamers in the gaming community landscape. But more than that, it's free publicity for Sony.

Look at the poor guy on second pic in background.

He hadnt afford with a PSP, so he has to read a book (maybe a cookbook. A COOK BOOK!)
by - 2006-06-06 10:20:06
nothing new..

PSPNation does these things every week. Just go to their forums and see when the next meet it. They usually hold it at Grand Central Terminal, Manhattan Mall, game store, Sony store, pubs, and all other places.

Re: Look at the poor guy on second pic in background

Its called a newspaper. If you read the article, this meetup was during rush hour (as in the time people rush to go home). If you look in that same pic, you'll see other people either sleeping or standing and reading newspapers.
by - 2006-06-06 10:27:55
not smart people

look how crowded together they are... r Akelly could have been there and got all of them soaked with my potent and colorful urine stream.... oh yes watch out people r kelly is waiting to unleash his wii on subway riders..if you have smelled the subway you know i aint the only one that pees there.

by - 2006-06-06 12:34:56
i have a question

when you do the meetups do you guys play multiplayer? if so how do you choose which games to play?? and would anyone get offended if i peed on people that lose to me in a game while i sing ignition(remix) ??
by - 2006-06-06 12:55:17
Pissing... someone might like it!

Seriously though, we play exclusively multiplayer, sometimes someone has a game that they want to play by themselves which is cool. We pick games that are current but sometimes we do get into some Twisted Metal of Hot Shots (a fav of TPN for a while). Currently we do alot of GTA, socom, syphon filter, Street Fighter, and many more. we usually have good full games and are pretty loud and competitive.

Loosers

Those guys look like loosers. I love my psp and all.. but that just looks stupid inthe train. I would never get caught on the NYC subway with a huge group of adults looking like giant geeks playing "psp". Especially the beutiful women you see in the reain, they will black list you....
by - 2006-06-06 16:16:25

No dis but in that first pic why is everyone so fat is that caused by the psp or is that natural fatness? Just a thought. Long Live PS34Free

by aliasneo - 2006-06-07 17:11:58
Simple rule in life

Dont play anything flashy like an iPod or PSP on the freakin subway or the bus in a crappy neighbourhood, you're bound to get robbed. If only robbers were aware of this event... sigh
by - 2006-06-07 18:19:58
WERE NOT ALL FAT

WE ARE NOT ALL FAT U ASS!
by - 2006-06-07 19:45:51
No one gets robbed

I love all the haters on here with the "You'll get your PSP stolen" comments. Umm, we've been doing these for over a year now, and it has never happened...not once. If you want a chapter near you, feel free to volunteer on our forums. But it's a lot of work, and there's no pay, except for meeting some great friends and getting your game on. Peace.
by - 2006-06-07 23:30:41
