umm yeah you guys fail to mention that NSMB has been out for half a year already and has already sold aroun 2 million+ copies, and its still selling at a brisk rate. Sadly like pretty much every other psp game in japan, tales will probably drop like a rock after a week, or a few weeks at the most. :(

What's wrong with JAPAN?, they are so into RPGs'. DS fanboys we all know the PSP is better than your handheld by specs, the reason why they are buying the DS is because it's backwards compatible. Just wait till the PSONE emulator and FFVII comes out, and well see how JAPAN and the rest of the world will forget the DS.

Keep in mind that both systems are marketed to completely different demographics. The DS has a very wide appeal, thanks to its compatibility with the extensive library of GBA titles, along with its own strong format. DS games have strong portability. Games like Mario Kart and Tetris can be pulled out at any time for a quick round, but can captivate one for hours on end. PSP, on the other hand, fails where the PS2 succeeded. Where the PS2 has an overwhelmingly diverse software library, PSP software tends to be the more "Americanized" type. Sports, rap stars, and GTA-level content are mainstream and make good sales, while the "traditional" games such as RPGs, adventures, and action games are secondary. Do the Japanese like 50 Cent and the antics of GTA? No, not as much as they like addicting gameplay and convenience. I think that we are beginning to see that since a greater number of games are sold in the West (due to larger population), Japan is going to become less important as a market. For this reason, the PSP does not have as much potential in Japan when its content leans toward the Western gaming style. While there are many great non-westernized games such as Rockman, Katamari, and a slew of RPGs, their sales numbers cannot compare with a GTA and thus fill less, or zero shelf space (count the Japanese vs Western titles in your local Target/Walmart, it's not NEARLY even).

Psp isn't better than the DS. The backwards compatibility of PS1 games is a rich mans road. Who the heck do any of you know rich enough to buy ps1 games again, a ps3, a psp, and a wireless router?!? Not, to mention an online playstation service? Plus, the pictures are junky on psp, a camera is a BAD idea, the internet is more annoying than useful, movies, pictures, and music eat your memory, and beg for more like fat jerks. Don't even get me started on the lack of games. I've never heard of any games for the psp, because there isn't any. Theres mega man (big surprise), and theres... grand theft auto. That's it. The DS won this battle before the PSP came out. Sorry folks, life sucks doesn't it?

Depressing that this is considered good news. For anyone thinking this is a sign of a win for PSP is quite ignorant. New Super Mario Bros. has been out for quite a long time, and even then, a port of a Super Nintendo game made the top chart. Super Nintendo Port? The PSP isn't a complete failure, but it cannot even stand beside the DS in that market. The Japan market has always been like this, so why do we care? In America, the battle is much closer, but even then, most gaming and anime conventions I travel to, I see alot of DS users than PSP users. Why? Nintendo knows that in a handheld, portable fun is key. Get it, take it, play for a while, go. Home console games deserve to be in the home. I know this will get attacked, and I understand why. But Wii are coming, and you soon will see what Wii can do. Wii truly are going to change everything.

Last week I was suppossed to get a DS. I went to the store and checked it out, I saw a display with a BRAINAGE running on it. After seeing it I told myself HECK my cellphone can play this stupid game. And that's how I didn't buy it.

We're not FANBOYS we just know how to separate reality from imagination sure the DS is winning right now but look 3-4 years down the road. Right now the PSP is whipping out good games and it's barely been 2 years, as for the DS I don't know how can it even compete.

i play N64 games on my psp using emulaters, and it works. I can instant message people, play GBA games (Lol on PSP, just like DS), NES, SNES, browse the internet, play flash games & movies, use it as a gps device, use it as a remote, and play GTA. I have a DS and I don't use it. my PSP is infinitely better. i like some violent games, but hey, i can also play Mario bros. and Starfox 64

I have a PSP, had a GBA before, and also have an XBOX. I have no alignment towards any manufacturer.. But, I think it 's funny that it took a PORT of a SUPER NINTENDO game to beat a DS title. Don't believe me? Read the story above again.

It's true because it's already proven with the DS vs PSP. Nintendo has a huge advantage when it comes to the Wii vs. PS3 as well. Sony just fails by focusing more on features than quality. But I'll admit a ver1.5 PSP wins because you can play old SNES/GBA/N64 games, but that's the only reason: to play old Nintendo games. I feel sorry for the people who have a useless 2.8 PSP.

EVERY ONE READ THIS POST kk psp is better that the ds because if u go on a long trip ull get bored ds has games and inter so what but the psp has videos games music inter gps camera. ds sucks sreen is small. i have a ds and i sold it cuz it had no good games i have a 1.5 psp i can play gba n64 and iso. just like the ds except iso cuz the ds has no memory. the inter is slow on the ds but the psp is 333mhz which is good for a handheld. its true i have a DS myself but i dont really like it..itz so weird like the screen is so small, i hate using the stupid other screen..but i admit DS have sum pretty kool games! and i still like it, but look at all the games PSP can play! thatz sooo kool!! and plus i heard you can download and play games on PSP 1.50 version THAT JUST AWSOMEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! you have 2 spend no money..all u have 2 do it by like a 2 gig memory stick..which cost like 130$ in canada in futureshop and u can play games and wen ur done with dem delete dem. and you have ur space back and look at all the money u just saved. like 3-4 games cost like umm..150-200$ just imagine how much money u save and plus of all the emulators too i mean SNES games arent that much but there hard to find...i am a DS onwer myself i love my DS still..but PSP its way more kool and plus u can even play music!! now thatz SICK!! A ds is very good and i love mines but all u DS onwers u guys have 2 admit PSP is better than the DS by like 10 miles! its just that u guys own a ds so u feel itzz the best and same with psp owners! but if u had both none of u wud gave a dam lol! im not saying anyone one of them arent fun to play! but psp is just better..
