SanDisk - Image 1Quite a number of PlayStation Portable users will probably agree that more memory sticks for their handheld is a good thing. Well, if you feel the same way and have some cash to spend, then you might want to check out this deal.

Website Buy.com is currently running a sale on its SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo 4 GB. The item was originally listed at US$ 79.99 but is now going for US$ 29.99.

According to the advertisement, the product is being offered with free shipping (although those who want to get it sooner can pony up US$ 5.49 for the 2nd Day Express Shipping option). To find out more about this deal, feel free to follow our source link below.

*UPDATE*

As some eagle-eyed commenters pointed out, the same website is also offering an 8 GB SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo for US$ 59.99 (dropped from US$ 129.99). Shipping is the same as in the 4 GB deal, so if you can afford it, you might want to pick this one up.

» that's pretty good but..

dealextreme has 8gb sticks for $38 with free shipping.

by 73N5H1 - 2008-07-08 07:47
» hmmm....

they're posting on the 4GB, but what they're failing to mention is that that site also have the 8GB for .99, which, in my opinion, is a much better deal.

As far as deal extreme goes... they have cheap stuff, but I wouldn't count on it being authentic.

by 73N5H1 - 2008-07-08 07:49
» that's odd

weird, it cut off part of the price I typed... that price should say fifty-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents....

by GaveUpTomorrow - 2008-07-08 07:52
» If you check...

dealextreme's memory sticks, they have no brand name on them...so they are clearly cheap knock-offs. I like deal-extreme, but I'd rather spend a little more and ensure that I get a working memory stick in this case. Go with buy.com, the 8gb is $59.99 (that's total, with free shipping, and a Sandisk card at that).

» woot

agree entirely, as I also said...

I'd much rather buy a sandisk for a little more than some cheap generic brand. I just placed my order for another 4GB and an 8GB.

» ....

ouch, I bought one for 50 euros (approx 78 dollars) in Media Markt (German store for electrical stuff) a month ago....

man, you have so low prices, and we in Europe are getting ripped off....

by Silver-Tiger - 2008-07-08 08:05
» uhh forgot something...

what means free shipping? only in USA or worldwide?

if worldwide, I might getting one or two.

by ultimax - 2008-07-08 08:28
» EU, ripped off?

Don't think so. I picked up my 4GB Sandisk MSD the other day from Amazon UK.

by 73N5H1 - 2008-07-08 09:11
» ...

its ok man... you guys in europe get all the good features, so we're even... haha

» .

I know they're fake memory sticks but the work just the same. And if not there's always the FAT16 format trick. I've been using a fake 4gb stick since I had my psp and haven't had any problems updating or playing homebrew ^^

» Meh.

I just saw a Sandisk Disk Ultra II memory stick on Amazon UK for around £18, which is I guess around $36. Not that big a difference considering we Europeans usually get ripped off. It's also supposed to be faster than the standard one in the article. I'm getting one soon.

BTW, beware of cheap memory sticks unless you're buying from a popular and reputable online retailer because there are *****load of fakes out there that not only have a lot less memory than advertised, but also have poor performance and risk of becoming corrupt.

» About fakes and cheap brands...

Some brands do have problems with CFW, specifically they can't load plugins fast enough before the PSP finishes booting.

My buddy had a Lexar that worked fine except for the plugins. This was several months back, the boot code may have changed since then.

» Damn I remember...

I bought my 1 gig Memory Stick back when they cost 100 bucks. Whatever, may pick up a 4 gig for the hell of it.

» wow.

by Binary - 2008-07-08 16:52
» ..

2gb is quite enough for me.

by califrag - 2008-07-08 18:58
» BUY THE ULTRA II

BUY THE ULTRA II. I picked one up and one of the normal blue ones, it loads homebrew and everything else about 4x faster (noticeably). I will only buy ULTRA II from now on or ULTRA III

by califrag - 2008-07-08 19:02
» yea

i remember paying 119.99 for my first 1GB sandisk.. i got sent a fake too. :(

by JaXeRiR - 2008-07-08 19:44
» No. Just no.

I have one Sandisk ULTRA II Memory Stick PRO Duo 4GB, and I have to say that you cannot notice the difference on the PSP. Sorry to burst your bubble. You must've been dreaming.

by Krisman - 2008-07-09 14:46
» Whatever

This is hardly news I posted in this thread http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=140090 about that 8GB quite a while ago. When it was a better deal even because you could still get $10 off from Google Checkout when I posted it. People should read the forums and only real news should be posted here.

by toomyzoom - 2008-07-10 05:30
» not cheap as you think

It's not US $29.99, they didn't show the tax so after the tax, it will go up about US $36.00. It's better for going to amazon with the same price US $36.18 and more reliable the buy.com.

by cboushell75 - 2008-07-25 10:36
» Can I get a few?

Is there anyway I could work something out with you so I could get a few of those memory sticks for myself and a few friends?
