Power Stone Collection
is on show at the Tokyo Game Show right now and Capcom is even allowing people who visit to download a playable demo! For those who don't know, this game is a collection of the two Power Stone games for the Dreamcast. It's a frenetic brawler that's perfect for parties! The PSP version will feature multiplayer via wireless ad-hoc mode.

Arcade mode in Power Stone is a single-player campaign in which you face off against CPU controlled opponents to unlock secrets. The secrets include (but aren't limited to) weapons, characters, galleries, and additional modes. Versus mode allows you to play against a friend in head to head wireless play. Multiplayer in Power Stone is limited to two players.

The PSP version has a new user interface that features an improved health bar and radar system. The most welcome addition is the appearance of four new characters in Power Stone 2. That's right, the four additional characters in Power Stone 2 are playable in Power Stone!

Power Stone 2 allows for up to four players to duke it out in "Original" mode. You can arrange for one-on-one, two-on-two, one-on-three, or tag team battles. The levels in this game are multi-tiered and are filled with crazy new weapons. Not only that, there are more modes of play too!

Arcade mode puts you as one combatant in a series of four-person melees with CPU characters. Basic mode is similar to Arcade but it features one-on-one battles instead. Adventure mode allows you to earn gold and create items to use in other modes, while the PSP version includes items previously unavailable on the Dreamcast. The PSP version will also include a mini-game called "Bomber Battle" where you fight in an arena filled with huge bombs

According to Capcom, new to the PSP version are:
  • Ad hoc multiplayer
    • Two players in Power Stone and up to four in Power Stone 2 can battle it out to see who will reign supreme!
    • Game sharing function allows others to download a one stage “Battle Royale” demo of Power Stone 2 from a single playerÂ’s UMD disc
  • Wacky new weapons join the existing arsenal of both titles for added comical mayhem
  • Training mode – practice makes perfect as beginners and experts alike can hone their skills and test drive items and weapons
  • Widescreen options – players can choose to view the action in original 4:3 ratio, 16:9 view tailored for the PSP systemÂ’s widescreen or a 4:3 stretch option
  • Upgraded camera system – toggle between wide, mid and close range views of the action at any time
  • Unlockable bonuses including playable characters, weapons, items and more!

trust me it sucks. maybe they've polished it up recently, but the demo that came with famitsu was garbage. i guess some things just don't get translated well onto different formats.
