Hey... What does that say on the TV screen?

Huh? Need for Speed meets The Sims? Well, while you're scratching your noggin, let us clarify. We told you that Test Drive Unlimited (by Atari for the PSP and Xbox 360) offers a lot of customizability. Not just car-customizability, but also your character can be modified. No, we're not just talking about the physical looks, like the hair or the eyebrows. We're talking about full lifestyle customizability.

The video below shows us exactly that. You get to choose what type of person you'd be controlling. Their wardrobes can also be changed (take a look below at what seems to be the suit Uma Thurman wore in Kill Bill), even their home entertainment systems. It's your money, and you can do whatever you want with it. You can buy your seaside resort-house, and develop your garage into a mechanic's shack. You can make deals with real estate and buy land or maybe your own condo unit.

To put it simply, it's like "Pimp My Ride" and "MTV Cribs" rolled into one video game! Way cool!

Black Mamba?

Best Game Ever?

Looks almost like Sims meets Test Drive. This game does look awesome though. I wonder more about the cars though. What kind of customizations on the cars? The city looks huge and if there is alot of locations that look that detailed, that would be awesome. I wonder if Atari will add things online such as you can download updates of the city or cars to increase the fun. I am very interested in this game after seeing this video. Maybe when it comes out on PS3 I will buy it or when I buy a 360.

Online play?

I've never heard of this game before, but it looks pretty cool. Hopefully there's online play, like you being able to go to another person's house online, and race them online, or vice versa. Also, what #3 said, about being able to download updates, would be nice. Can't wait to see more of this game.

@ CHUCKINGROCKSATSPACESHIPS

If you take a look at our previous coverage of Test Drive Unlimited, we've reported that the whole game is set in Oahu, Hawaii. The developers tried to create a virtual map that follows the exact terrain of the island... So I'm not really sure if there'd be downloadable maps and stuff... But I'm sure other stuff could be downloaded...

There is not going to be "maps and stuff". There will be 6 cars for download each month starting 6 weeks after release. I'm not sure if there will be anything else though.
