Peace Walker has a bit of Pokemon, SimCity, and Monster Hunter in it

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has a lot of features that make it unique from the other MGS titles, and if you hear what Hideo Kojima hasto say about it, that comes to no surprise at all. Would you believe that the latest MGS has a bit of SimCity, Monster Hunter, and even Pokemon in it?

pws

I'll hide your corpse in a Poke Ball.

"Nearly everything you can do with a portable system is in this game," Kojima told PSM3. "Here it's about 'Tactical Espionage Operation' — there's that nuance of running and maintaining Big Boss' army while handling sneaking missions. You won't 'get' it until you play it. It's like no game before. It's part MGS, part Monster Hunter and part Pokemon - and it's even got a bit of SimCity to it."

On that note, the game also has bits of Assassin's Creed in it, plus a few bags of Doritos, some Mountain Dew, give or take a whiff of Axe. But that's another side of the story.

I suppose "pay me some money and I'll stick your product in my game" technically qualifies as an idea.

But in the worst way.

Without the second analog stick, the game is dead for me in gameplay, Sony should realese this for the next psp.

Poor excuse for someone who is just lazy, considering Hideo has made 3 different control schemes for the game, they all work fluently, thanks for trolling though

mgs has been lame for years wether it has 1 analog stick or 20.

And anyway how many analog sticks does it take to stick a dorito in snakes mouth or drive attractive women wild with axe body spray?

I'm betting within a few days of release someone will release a patch to get rid of the product placement.

it'll only be "Pokemon" for the changing of characters or something. Like "I call out naked Big Boss!" or whatever :P

Trainer Mountain Dew IMO.

Otacon has been forced into early retirement due to Dorito and Moutain Dew based diet.

Introducing his replacement
Axe Sprayacon.

I had to upgrade from my CFW just so I could put a preorder down to play it the day its out here (as well as other UMD games). Can't friggin wait. For this game I lost the ability to run my own PS1 iso's and emulators. It had better be worth it!

Very interested to see the Pokemon influences/ideas/whatever. Love that series.

This is one of those times you have a legitimate reason to play an ISO. If you have the game, rip it to your memory stick, and apply a patch to get it working.

I'm waiting on the release here in the UK next week myself, though; Hideo Kojima is coming to HMV!

Wasn't Portable Ops enough like Pokemon in the first place? Why can't we just have a normal MGS experience on a portable console? MGS on gameboy color was amazing and I've wanted the same experience in 3D ever since...

its a different kinda pokemon scheme hideo uses, the more experienced people u get, the more brand new items u acquire, its actually quite motivational instead of blasting through the game guns blazing, i like the whole game for psp because it has more to keep u busy instead of buying the game for one time then leaving it on the shelf

People saying that this game sucks...
1. because of the product placements, and
2. before theyve even played it...
Need to pull the giant sticks out of their asses.
