In over two decades, only thirteen games have managed to get a perfect review score from Famitsu. Oh wait, make that fourteen. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker just got a 40/40 in this week's issue.

Peace Walker follows in the footsteps of the PS3 release Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The game launches this month in Japan and will hit North America and Europe on June 8 and June 17, respectively.

In other Peace Walker news, series mastermind Hideo Kojima has Tweeted that the game's North American version is already done. All that's left now is to finish up the European version.

I haven't heard anything about it either after E3. Maybe we'll hear more in June.

That's making me so excited! Maybe I should dust off my 'Portable Ops' and finally beat that to prepare for this release. =)

Im totally buying this game, but I wanna be able to play it w/o putting my 3000 at ofw again. Just for the fact that ill have to leave cfw for good, i might not even get this game, and if i did i wouldnt be able to play it.

Trade PSPs with me? I gots the original fat with a Pandora Battery all set up. I can switch between any firmware, OFW/CFW, at will.

But it's fat. :|

it is what it is. i wouldn't have a PSP any longer, or certainly wouldn't play it, if not for piracy. not a justification by any means, but as i said...it is what it is.

There's a lot who thinks like him though.

CFW kinda promotes piracy. Don't give me that BS that CFW was just meant for Homebrew because otherwise they wouldn't have included running PSP ISOs. Emulators that run Roms is a form of piracy. Just because it's old doesn't mean you can just download them and play.

@-_Jackal_-
Probably the 2nd most honest behind nyr2k2. I'm on the same vote. I will buy Peace Walker like I did Monster Hunter Unite.

I use ISOs instead of my UMDs because they break easily. Not to mention they load faster. ISOs aren't just for pirates, but they can also be used for backups of UMDs...

i have about 15 ps3 games. i've bought a ton of systems and games in my lifetime, starting with my first purchase, an SNES when i was 16. i've never really been into piracy otherwise.

but with the psp, i pirate all my games. i bought that system at launch, along with twisted metal, wipeout and that weird puzzle game. after that, the system began collecting dust, as there was shit to play on it.

when i read in a magazine some time later that i could play emulators on my psp, i was like, damn, i gotta get on that. i bought a couple of more psp games after that, but they all sucked. i vowed to not waste another dime on that system. i didn't.

again, i'm not saying pirating my psp games is okay or justifiable, but i just dont care anymore. if i couldn't pirate the games, i'd put that fucker in a box and let it rot in my garage.

I partially agree with what you're trying to say, but not entirely. Although I agree that one shouldn't waste money on crap games, I think exceptionally good ones should be supported.

You seem to point that the psp has no games that deserve to be bought, well I suppose that not everyone's tastes are the same.
I won't lie and pretend to be a saint saying I buy every psp game I play, but god of war chains of olympus or final fantasy crisis core are some that come to mind that deserved spending my hard earned cash on them, I made a backup from the umd before playing them. For me, in the end, it's about supporting who deserves and having some satisfaction in owning a package (e.g. my crisis core special edition art book).

for the simple fact that this is a mgs game. i hope that cfw doesnt work / will never work for this game because your a cheap fuck if you are anticipating playing a pirated version. for the simple fact alone the game has install to memstick. i think your fucked to begin with.... GOOD!!!

Why do you think the requirement of installation to a memory stick would make it hard to pirate that game?
I don't support piracy, just curious why you think this would stop him... Monster Hunter Freedom Unite had an option to install files to the memory stick and it worked fine.

CFW isn't the source of the problem, I love it for emulators, homebrew and such. And I've got a Pandora so I can go back and forth between CFW and OFW. I rarely use piracy as a form of obtaining my games (Though I do often pirate the one's I'd never be bothered to buy) With that said I will most definably be buying Peace Walker

you really are a fucked up person to pirate a game as epic as this.

i'm buying the damn big boss pack because kojima deserves the whole $200 i'm paying for it.

i'll be downloading it from torrents too, but i deserve to with the money i'm spending on it, you better buy a UMD copy, or you really aren't getting the point of CFW

today's dose of "RAGE" was brought to you by SteelWolf89, lol :P

Why would you download it to?

That might be a good idea to buy a whole new PSP for it. Because a big fanboy title like this is bound to have as much copy protection as weeaboo hearts did. So you'd probably have to update your fw to company status.

If They dont release it onPSN,im going to getnuts, the controls on psp 2000/3000 are much more easier though because the analog-stick is more to the left, & on the PSPgo its down :(

"Peace Walker gets perfect score from Famitsu..."

Lol, go figure.

Famitsu scores seem to have about as much to do with quality as winning an oscar.

"You like me, you really like me"!

Of course that doesn't mean that it sucks, just that famitsu scores are no indication IMO.

It's up there with legendary masterpieces of gaming such as Nintendogs.
