Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War will be released in Japan on May 10. Seeing that the launch is just one set of winks away, Square Enix decided to upload the opening cut-scene for the PSP video game. As you all know, these cinematics are important as they set the tone for the game.

The title is actually a port of the PlayStation 1 (PSOne) original. Take note that Square Enix didn't just port the game in the traditional sense of the word as many new features and improvements have been employed. Aside from cel-shaded full motion videos, new content has also been added, like extra job classes.

Speaking of which, the opening cut scene doesn't reveal yet any information on the newly announced character Luso. But hardcore FF fans should know that she is the main protagonist in the DS title Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimore. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War is priced at 4,800 Yen (US$ 41).

» Not Very Nice Looking

I'm very excited about the game coming out but that opening intro just does not look good at all. I respect the fact they are taking the actual artwork and making a movie out of it, but a little more color and detail would be nice.

I'm pretty sure Luso from FFT: A2 is a dude. And I've already seen the cutscene, Ramza saves him from getting eaten by some monsters by throwing his sword into its head.

There are also only 13 movies in all that I ripped from UMD (with WinRAR and fastloader), they're in PMF format, so you'll be able to watch them with the right codec or the right application on the PSP.
