The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion - Image 1 The release of The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion has been delayed. The game developed and published by Bethesda Softworks is one of the most highly anticipated games for this year. The releases on other platforms have garnered multiple awards and accolades from different organizations like G4 and Metacritic.

For the uninitiated, the story of the game starts with the death of the Emperor of Tamriel. Because of this, the gates of Oblivion opened, and demons have begun to infest the land, destroying everything. Your character must find the heir to the throne to stop the destruction of Tamriel.

But now, the people may have found something even the demons would fear... a delay of the game's release date.

The release date has apparently been moved to September 3, 2007 as opposed to April 16, 2007 in the Gamestop shop. Those five months can seem like an eternity to a lot of gamers who have been patiently waiting for this game. We, like most of them, have been praying that it was simply a typographical error. More news on this as we receive it.

Why????

Was looking forward to that :(

Sad news..

I hope this is an error, this game will be my favourite game for the psp when it comes out if it's anything like Morrowind and Oblivion for the other platforms it was made for.. And if it is, then it will be worth the wait!

gee wonder why

dont forget the more you hack your psp the less developers wanna release their titles. until the unhackable frimwares are out, i wouldnt hold my breath for 'xxx' release

clueless

"the more you hack your psp the less developers wanna release their titles." Tell it to Capcom, didn't they just sell 700k of a single game in one week? Perhaps the little world you are in where everyone uses iso's and doesn't buy any software isn't representative of the larger world? eh? Companies don't intentionally not make money. Delays happen because it isn't finished yet.

Ahh!

I cant believe it. I was just looking at that game on myspace and I said to myself "I bet they delay it". They delay every cool game. Silent Hill was supposed to be released in April but now it's like Dec or something, and Rainbow Six: Vegas was supposed to be out a couple weeks ago, but now it's sheduled for April. Watch, I bet they delay Ghost Recon also.

I hope everyone knows....

Sad news indeed

Last night I reported this on My qj.net because of how bothered I was by it, and by finding out the later release of Silent Hill. I'm glad I still have one title coming out soon to look forward to, Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics; it will probably get me through the summer months while eagerly awaiting more titles that I love the franchise of.

You all shouldn't expect muuh...

You all shouldn't expect much of this game, I mean, the pc version is for me the top #1 game ever made but you gotta know that UMD's have a caoacity of only 1.8gb when the normal game is around 4.3gb and it requires 3gb processing power to run (and a bit laggy). This will be a good game but don't expect it to be like the real deal...

from: http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=7032 "The latest issue of OPM has a feature on the newly announced The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion title for PSP, along with the first images of the game. Unlike its big brother on 360/PS3/PC, Oblivion on PSP will be a dungeon-crawler -- no wide-open landscapes here. According to executive producer Todd Howard, the game will feature 10 large levels that look much like areas in the console versions, but are more concentrated. " why couldnt they just port daggerfall with some updates visuals? would have been so much better of a game, esp since daggerfall si still the best of all fo them. Heck even if they kept the old graphcis and proted daggerfall + arena it would be still better than this. Dont they lsiten to their fanbase at all ebfore making a game? Or are they the new sega, "hey lets make a enw sonic game with sonic holding a gun, nobody asked for it but who cares." heck even shadowkey on the ngage is probably better than this lol. do you think if we bombard them with emails and get a bunch of other boards to as well they would change their minds and remake this?
by - 2007-03-03 20:13:54
.

What the hell, Daggerfall was ****ing horrible. I have never seen a buggier game.

wrongo

"one of the most highly anticipated games for this year." Correction: one of the most highly anticipated games for LAST year.
by - 2007-03-03 23:11:36
Hmmm

Oblivion is incredible on the PC. I've been anxious to try it out on the PSP. Oh well... wonder if we'll ever see an Ultima port...!
by Korlithiel - 2007-03-03 23:34:33
About listening to their fanbase...

If I were them I would throw poorly spelled and/or grammatically incorrect emails out and move on to those with something good to say. But then again you do probably have a good point, remakes of those older games for portables would be good about now since the portables could handle the graphics and have plenty of storage capacity.
by - 2007-03-04 00:10:03
damn

dungeon crawler.... i was hoping for the real thing
by - 2007-03-04 14:37:03
Not exactly surprising...

The developer, Climax, has been having trouble. They also have been having delays with the other big title they are working on for the PSP - Silent Hill. Honestly, considering this won't sell any copies, since no one on the PSP buys games, just downloads them, I wouldn't be surprised to see this get cancelled.
by - 2007-03-04 14:43:14
Re:Clueless

Yeah, Monster Hunter sold well in Japan, with the original doing almost a million copies. However, in the US, it sold poorly, despite it being pretty much the top game on the PSP in terms of message board traffic on Gamefaqs (rivaling that of the 360 version of Oblivion). It's pretty much proof that maybe 10% of PSP gamers buy their games.
by - 2007-03-04 17:43:49
lol

i hate the idea of a dungeon crawl, its different tho and as a big elder scrolls fan im interested because if its a dungeon crawl they have no excuse to dumb down the graphics too much because they are not dealing with a massive open world, my only hopes for it would be a multiplayer mode seen as PSP practically lives of multiplayer, even the GTA's had head to head modes etc etc. I use ISO's of games that id probably never consider buying and it makes sense. why pay for something you don't want. i will buy two copies of oblivion One to play and one to keep as i imagine that this version will piss people of and it probably wont sell enough to stay on the shelves for very long, and whats a fan if they dont have an original sealed copy of everything?
